Do you mean the cartoon prequel?

No the actual film with Hugh Jackman

Messenger from Hades' Gate
The pros: Hugh Jackman! Kate Beckensale (God, she's so hot!)! The movie poster rocks and the movie looks like it will be visual candy. Also, it looks like the enivornment will be dark, gothic, and rainy. The pace looks to be quick and fun.

The cons: DOCTOR Van Helsing was a charcter in Bram Stoker's book Dracula, but I don't remember reading about him in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein though he's advertised as fighting the poor Frankenstein monster in this film. Also, this movie makes it look like Van Helsing is basically Whistler from Blade, a far stretch from the character Anthony Hopkins played in the movie Dracula. Actually, I can't think of any other interpretation of Dr. Van Helsing having a single athletic bone in his body (anybody remember the dorky Dr. Van Helsing from the Dracula movie with Bela Lugosi?).

All in all I expect the storyline to be on par with the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which wasn't a TERRIBLE movie but it definately was not on the same playing field as Batman, The Crow, or other kings of dark action movies.

i agree, the movie will probably look very good visually but i don't expect it to have a fantastic plot or story line...oh well, hugh jackman can make up for that...

Wasn't Dr. Frankenstein the creator of the monster? ... I noticed on some of the posters the monster is labelled as "Frankenstein"...

Yeah, Frankenstein was the man who made the monster, aptly named "Frankenstein's monster." But every time people *or maybe just me* hear the name Frankenstien, I think of Boris Karloff in KISS boots.

I saw the trailer yesterday when I saw Dawn of the Dead and the CGI blows big time, but the sets are good lookin,
