MoFo Fantasy Football 2023 - The Season
Neat, but I didn't feel I could start him. If he'd missed one more week I would've, but I was worried he'd be eased back in. Ah well.

My son had Montgomery and Gibbs in a league and started Gibbs. He was losing it last night. RBs are a ton of fun right now.

My wife is playing her brother in my other league. He is the biggest trash talker, so he is the most fun to beat. Last night she started Montgomery and he started Gibbs. Gibbs was projected at 13.79, Montgomery 8.70 (we use full PPR, not half). He finished at 9.10, she at 34.10, and she now has a 75% chance projected win.

Well, it sure looks like I've got four top 25-30 RBs and no tight end, so if someone's interested in a deal, I might be, too.

Interested in Kittle? Wondering what would be a good fit for both of us.

It seems obvious at this point that Justin Fields isn't going to make that "Jalen Hurts-like meteoric leap" as a passer that I wrote about after the draft, but I'm still optimistic that he'll at least start putting up similar stats to last year. He got off to an even slower start last season, but after the first month morphed into a weekly 20+ guy. If he shits the bed again this week against the Broncos, who just gave up 70 freakin' points, it might be time for me to make a move for a more reliable QB. Whatever the Bears have been doing hasn't been working, so just let Fields run around and play backyard football.
The Dolphins look special this season, so I probably should've held onto Tua. However, I remain skeptical that he'll maintain his current level of play. He put up monster stats against two of the worst secondaries, but was mediocre against the Pats in week 2, and he's got a lot of tough defenses ahead of him, especially in the second half of the season. Plus he remains a huge injury risk. TE is a wasteland of production, so I couldn't pass up the chance to add one of the few elite options in Mark Andrews (the only guy besides Kelce to finish #1 at the position over the last several years). If Fields continues to struggle, however, and Tua goes on to have an MVP season, then my upgrade at TE won't offset the production I'm losing at QB.
My biggest concern after the draft was whether or not I had startable depth. Instead my depth turned out to be my biggest strength, and I'm already at the point where I don't feel comfortable dropping anyone. I drafted Mike Evans in the 9th round and Romeo Doubs in the 13th round. As of right now, they've scored the 6th and 7th most fantasy points at the position. I drafted Zack Moss near the end of the draft, and he's scored ~20 in his first two starts. Jaylen Warren continues to get more work each week and is turning into a viable FLEX. My waiver-wire pick-up, Puka Nacua (what a fun name to say!), is a PPR machine. I also think I have a strong enough kicker and defense that I won't have to worry about streaming.
Depth is nice and it sets me up well to survive injuries and bye weeks, but I'd love to package some players together to go after a superstar. Last week I debated Javonte Williams or Zack Moss at RB2 and Puka or Metcalf in my FLEX. Made the wrong decision in both situations and lost as a result. I worry those start/sit decisions will cost me more wins in the future, so it'd be nice to parlay my depth into a player or two who is a no-brainer every-week starter.

Going up against the Fantasy equivalent of Mike Tyson this week.
Najee Harris, I benched Rashee Rice for your supposed 10.77 projected fantasy point butt, im looking at you Mister!

Gotta love the NFL TV schedule. I get the choice of Bears (0-3) vs Bronco's (0-3) or Vikings (0-3) vs Panthers (0-3). I'm not that much of a diehard.

Najee actually covered his projected, and Derrick Henry earned like a pro bowler.
Me and Yoda are basically tied.
I have Mahomes & Pacheco @ NYJ, plus Kittle vs Arizona
The muppets got DaVonte "No Pity" Adam's @ LAC, James Conner @ SF, and a kicker named Dicker.
If the Chiefs weren't up against that tough Jets defense I'd be confident. Instead I think it's 50/50.

Nah you've got too many other players still to go, including the QB.
That massive 14 point kicker day could be the difference, though. Kicker variation was the reason I lost last week, too.

Meanwhile…I’m probably going to score over 130 points and still lose. And it isn’t even that close.
1-3 with Tongo next week isn’t exactly a great start to the season. Need Burrow to start turning things around on his end and put some sort of winning streak together

Allen and Diggs were pretty much neck and neck in points that whole game. Once the Bills had game in hand I told my boys “it would be nice if Allen got one without Diggs help”.
The difference comes down to our QB production. Burrow gets at least around 20 points, and it’s closer and gives me a chance.
