I've heard good things about The Equalizer. I've almost watched it a couple times, but I hated the trailer. I'll check it out next time. I never hear anyone mention Safe House; I thought that was a pretty good Denzel/action movie.
I loved The Equalizer and I loved it for one reason...Denzel Washington...just like Optimus said, Denzel was a total badass in this movie that you didn't care what else was going on, Denzel made the film work.

I ended up watching it and I did enjoy it. Denzel was mostly responsible, but I also liked the villains and tense dialogue. On the negative side, I thought the action was very standard.

Suicide Squad
Directed By: David Ayer

The Story
I loved the whole idea and story of the Suicide Squad. It really felt like a comic book brought to life. I loved the cast and the characters, and i loved the soundtracks that played throughout the movie. My main problem i had about the movie was the villain. I thought the whole supernatural aspect felt really out of place. I really can't understand why they didn't try and keep this movie more grounded. They could of just went with the Joker as the main villain, or even just kept Enchantress more grounded. They went full blown stupid with her and it sort of ruined the movie, but only a little .

Movie Trivia;

The helicopter crash scene was the last to be shot just in case any of the actors got injured and filming was delayed.

To prepare for his role as Deadshot, Will Smith shaved his head and spent time training with Navy SEALS and Army Rangers, practicing firing a Glock 9mm handgun and an AR-15 rifle. The actor turned out to be a quick learner, particularly with long distance shots using the AR-15.

Several scenes of Killer Croc's backstory were removed from the final cut, including scenes depicting his entire life as a social outcast due to his physical appearance and convincing himself that he is beautiful in his own way. Croc crossed paths with Batman while working as muscle-for-hire for numerous Gotham crime bosses, while secretly planning to take over one day. There were also scenes displaying his affinity for making sculptures out of discarded materials. Aside from jokes about Croc viewing himself as 'beautiful,' one of these were retained in the final cut. Also deleted was a scene where he becomes sick at the helicopter escort to Midway City, throws up half-digested pieces of goat, and then eats them again, disgusting the nearby Navy Seals.
The Cast
The cast were absolutley awesome. Will Smith as Deadshot was very cool. Joel Kinnaman as Rick Story was great, and who ever played Killer Croc was awesome, he was one of my favourite characters. The stars of the movie tho have to be Margot Robbie and Jared Leto as Harley Quinn and The Joker. The pair of them steal the show everytime they appear on the screen, especially Margot Robbie she absolutley nailed Harley Quinn. Damnnn, she's so sexy too.

Movie Highlight
My movie highlight has to be the opening 20 minutes of the film where we meet the Suicide Squad. I really enjoyed the flashbacks into there lives before all the craziness kicks off. And It was also a nice touch throwing Batman and Gotham City into the mix. If i'm totally honest, i love the whole movie. Okay the villain sort of messes things up, but i still think its a very solid movie. Its the best DC movie to date leading up to the Justice League, and i also thought it was better than alot of the Marvel movies. I really don't get the hate for this movie at all.

My Verdict
My verdict is The Suicide Squad is a very entertaining movie, with awesome action and a very solid cast. 26% on RT is laughable, its miles better than Man Of Steel which holds 56% or something, so i'm left scratching my head at who the hell scores these movies. I recommend this movie to those of you who have been put off.

Glad to see you enjoyed it Raul.

And MM go watch it, then come back and ramble on with 20,000 words with your opinion. .

I repped you but ugh. Suicide Squad was horrendous. What took it from bad to awful for me is the fact that it thinks it is so darn clever. The same problem I had with Deadpool. My sense of humor and style just doesn't jive with these films. I would watch Man Of Steel everyday over Suicide Squad, and I don't like MOS very much.

playing catch up and had a lot of fun reading the reviews during the summer. Batman Begins IS in the upper echelon of Batman movies and like you I was VERY surprised by how much I enjoyed Ant Man
I've heard/read the hate for Suicide Squad but STILL wanna check it out at some point.

Extra reps for the trivia. especially this lil bit at the end regarding how well treated the penguins were in Batman Returns that: Clearly the birds enjoyed the experience as, following their stint in Hollywood, most of them had mated and produced eggs - the sure sign of a contented penguin.
I haven't seen a trivia point that made me grin so much about extras since I heard of the serious partying the munchkins allegedly did during Wizard of Oz.
That is just f@ckin AWESOME

Much like Sean, I also found Suicide Squad to be extremely grating for many reasons. It really is a complete mess in every possible regard. Most of the things you single out as highlights are things I definitely did not like about the film - even the terribly uninspired villain would be relatively low on the list of things I hated.

Captain America: Civil War
Directed By: Anthony Russo and Joe Russo

The Story
I thought the story felt very forced. I felt like it didn't really tie into the other marvel movies (apart from characters) and that the movie was made purely to see The Avengers fight against each other. It was almost like kids fighting in the playground and then making friends with each other 5 minutes later, and it left me thinking at the end of the movie what was the point in all of that. I honestly don't get the praise for this movie at all. The Winter Soldier was a masterpiece compared to this, and i almost feel like Marvel can dish anything out now and just recieve praise for it.

Movie Trivia;
The day before filming a fight scene with Robert Downey Jr., Sebastian Stan sent him a video of himself doing intense bicep curls in front of the decapitated head of an Iron Man suit. He attached the message, 'Looking forward to our scene tomorrow Robert.

The finalists for the Spider-Man role did separate screen tests with Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., with the intent of seeing whose chemistry fit the best with both Evans and Downey.

Tom Holland commented on how intimidated he was when he came to screen test for Spider-Man, saying that Robert Downey Jr. took him aside and said, "Listen, I remember my screen test for Iron Man. I remember how terrified I was. Just think of it as an audition. It's nothing too scary. If you get it wrong, we'll just start again. No pressure."
The Cast
The cast where pretty good, although there where some characters that i was a little bored and fed up of seeing. Black Pantha was a cool and a great new addition to the Marvel Universe, as well was Spiderman too, although i do think he will be a character that annoys me. I also loved seeing Ant-Man in the mix, he's a great character played very well by Paul Rudd, he's a breath of fresh air in The Universe too.

Movie Highlight
My movie highlight has to be the airport scene. Obvisouly it was pretty cool watching The Avengers fight it out, but i was left a little dissapointed none of them where killed off. As i mentioned above, it all felt very pointless with nothing really major happening. Anyway, regardless of no one getting seriously hurt or killed off the scene was still pretty cool.

My Verdict
I'd say average. It's very overatted and doesn't come close to some of Marvel's other movies. I'd say it was the weakest of The Captain America trilogy also. I will praise the action, and some of the characters, but it did leave me feeling very dissapointed.

Interesting review of Captain America: Civil War. The film is actually based on a Marvel event series called Civil War, the writers of which complained that it seemed out of character for Iron Man to be in favour of government interference - they had no choice as they were only being told what to do.

Can i ask how you feel it's a big mess?.

But they didn't follow the comic exactly anyway did they?.

My review goes into detail, but to sum up - badly-handled ensemble of characters, extremely uninspired/misguided/poorly-structured plot (which also extends to the actual action sequences), haphazard technical choices (especially when it comes to the editing), aggressively pointed soundtrack choices that are painful to hear even when they're songs that I actually like, and an irritating sense of humour that can't help but feel like desperate over-compensation for the dourness of BvS.
