Who Has Time Anymore?

Time. Back when I was a kid I had all the time in the world. Now it seems there isn't enough time in the day to do everything that needs to be done and still have time to do what I want.

Has everything in life sped up? I mean it seems that everything that is invented nowadays is meant to speed things up, which, you'd think, would leave enough time to do more for oneself...right? But I feel that now that modern technology has created these time saving miracles there is more time to do more. By that I mean more time to do things that need to be done rather than more time to enjoy life.

Has anyone ever experienced a time when everything was done and all you have to do is...nothing?

time does speed up when you get older and i have never had that experience...everytime i think that i do get everything done something else pops up that needs to be done..so i feel as if i never have time for myself anymore

You know… when I was a kid I was in a hurry to grow up so I could do just what I wanted to… boy was I ever dumb… … And no, I can’t even remember a time everything was done and I had nothing to do… not anytime lately anyway…

How she runs faster as she grows up. Didn't your dad ever tell you that time speeds up when you get older? We're all trying desperately to get somewhere... we just don't stop to realize that it really doesn't matter. Being happy matters, making loved ones happy matters. The rest is all shades of necessary and non necessary bull****.

I'm still unemployed, pray that I won't be for much longer - I need an interview tomorrow so I can work on Monday. I pretty much have a lot of time to myself - I have this whole day, even.

Since I moved in with Jason (SabreMan79), I have given up some of my time to work around the house and do things with him - I don't complain. On the weekends, I accompany him to his winterguard rehearsals, which he coaches. They last all day - I've groaned and tried to stay home (some days I have) - but I want to be there with him cause I don't see him much on the weekdays since he works. It's growing on me. Can you imagine I, Sexy Celebrity in a gym trying to catch a rifle in the air? Yeah, crash. Of course, those days still give me time to read or oogle at my husband (yes, I call him my husband) as he struts around in a white T-shirt and grey shorts. Sometimes they make me get a TV and VCR out of a band director's office, and it takes me 15 minutes just to open the office door cause the lock is from hell.

Oh, I also learned how to wash dishes and do the laundry! Of course, I didn't do the laundry so good once. I left wet clothes on top of each other to dry. I had to do the laundry all over again.... I also clean house, take out the trash, go get the mail, ask the mailman "Where the hell is that package my momma sent me on Friday?!", vacuum, make the bed, and sometimes I catch two episodes of Roseanne on TV.

So, yeah, time has sped up more for the Sexy Celebrity, but I'm enjoying all of it. I do miss those days when I had all of the time in the world though.

my birthday is coming up and for the past couple weeks my parents have told me how fast the time has gone, and i have sat through numerous tellings of what I was like as a baby. I on the other have no recollection of anything before 1996. It's funny I do want to move on with life, but I love my life right now, it's not perfect, but somehow I want it to last forever. Unfortunately that won't happen. Soon i 'll be done with this post, and the minutes will drone on as I study, then those minutes will turn to days, and then weeks, and months, to years and before I know it I'll be sitting at a desk (oh i hope not! i would like to be on my feet) doing something grown up like. in no way do I want to grow up, but I think I shall, for thats the nature of time, people "grow up" with time, but then again...nobody said I had to be mature about growing up...

I actually have too much time on my hands a lot of the time, but never enough time to spend with the people I care about the most. Working nights takes away that time, and when I do have the time, it is unfortunately all too short. I have to make the time myself, I guess. I try to work with Amy as much as I can since we never have compatible schedules lately, and at work seems to be the only time i can be with her, and I try really hard to find time to hang out with my best friend Brian as much as I can on weekends since he won't be around much longer.

As one of the older MoFo's, time speeds up as you get older. I always make time for myself even if it is only a half an hour here or there, it helps to cope with a hectic life, remain happy, calm and contented, oh yes and not bite peoples heads off.

This is one of my fav subjects lately and here is an interesting tid-bit....

When the Stage Coach was popular transpo, the average traffic speed in NY City was 6-11 mph. Now it's around 4-6 mph...We are speeding right up....

The more time I have, the more things I think of to do... so I never percieve myself as having a lot of time.

I'm bored.
