Prequel to "300"

In the same story I read about Cloverfield 2 being put on hold, I read that they are making a prequel to 300. I really don't like the idea of a cloverfeild to, or a prequel to 300...however a prequel to 300 would be better than a sequel to cloverfield...i really dont think they can make a sequel without it coming off kind of stupid and unoriginal

Er, where exactly did you read they were making a prequel to 300? You see, that kind of thing is hard to believe unless there's proof...

"Legendary Pictures has confirmed it is developing a "300" follow-up for Warner Bros that Frank Miller is writing and Zack Snyder is intended to direct.

Miller is writing the graphic novel the project will be based upon, although at this point it's not clear whether it will be a prequel or spin-off. Most of the characters, including Gerard Butler's King Leonidas, died in the original, making a follow-up tricky.

Snyder won't officially commit until after he sees Miller's take, but he's definitely interested. Legendary considers the project a major priority.

"The vision of Frank Miller's universe that Zack Snyder brought to the screen in '300' is unlike anything ever seen before," Legendary topper Thomas Tull told Variety. "We want to be certain that the story originates with Frank and be as compelling as the first."

Another "300" has been rumored from the start, but last week Snyder and the original producing team revealed the news to Collider during the Saturn Awards."

stupid talk. there's much better things for frank miller to be doing than a prequel to the 300. what the hell could it entail? the whole point was that single historic battle that actually took place. i mean thats it. personally i think its a waste of time and money.

I agree one hundrend and seventeen percent. It would be completely stupid to do another one. I originally saw the news on IMDB and then other random places. Hopefully the idea just gets shelved and is forgotten.

Am I the only person that thought that 300 was the most overrated film of last year? Not only was it overrated, but it was crap to boot.

i thought the action was phenomenal. as far as the story goes, not so much. basically every time they werent fighting i was bored out of my mind. except of course for the dramatic slow mo sex

The film 300 was very awsome I loved the cgi and the story, even the acting I found to be top notch. The one problem that I had with it was the god dam slow motion, if it wasnt for that the film would of been fantastic!
But I still dont think a prequel will be any good.
