That list is pretty spot on, but I'd add Waking Life, Donnie Darko, Pulp Fiction, ANYTHING COEN brothers or tarantino really.

Also try watching the british tv show, Peep Show.

I just saw Chronicle and i have to say i have not been so impressed by a film in a LONG time. Its absolutely stunning.

Hey man to each his own, and yes it certainly is no tarkovsky, only the cinematography made me think of tarkovsky.

Absolutely i thought the cinematography and overall execution of The Mirror was excellent. Stalker was incredible as well, a very original director Tarkovsky he is. Never quite seen a style like his.
