Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

Re: Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

I couldn't help but think that the whole post-apocalyptic Australia, Mad Max, Road Warrior thing is used up. Been there, seen that. It's not fun like Star Wars, the movie doesn't create momentum,...

We're actually looking for a Blue Ray version of the sci-fi-fantasy-noir movie of the same name with Keifer Sutherland, Jennifer Connelly and William Hurt. I understand that it drew inspiration from...

Just checked Amazon. There is a blue ray version of the movie, as well as a Dark City that's a LA police expose and a completely different fictional version, another LA noir, interestingly starting...

Fascism is less a description and more of an accusation in our time and place, somebody you don't like politically who veers to the right side of the political spectrum.

I have a DVD that dates way back, do wish for a better version. The closest I have come was a box set that used it as filler, but it's still DVD, though not a bad one.

Same thing with The Keep,...

Re: ‘Furiosa,’ ‘Garfield’ lead slowest Memorial Day box office in deca

No surprise. Too many movies that are either uninteresting, well worn retreads, etc. Do we really need another installment in the Mad Max universe or another Ape Planet? I don't. I do have some...

Hearsay about celebrities after their deaths. Do we give credence?

Re: Hearsay about celebrities after their deaths. Do we give credence

I'd go with "just move on". There's nothing productive about post-mortem rumors and accusations. The perpetrator is dead, can't be convicted, absolved or confronted. I can see why people drag up...

Nope, but I never looked, never expected it. This is probably a forlorn quest since most people alive today have never heard of the movie.

Re: Satyricon: Is there an edition where the dubbing always matches li

Good dubbing is something I've never seen. I'd rather just do subtitles. It's not just the matching of lips, but the inflection, emotion and everything else about dubbing. It just doesn't work...

Re: Hearsay about celebrities after their deaths. Do we give credence

For a lot of crimes, the statute of limitations ends with death. Being a cynic, I know that money, fame and influence have a malign effect on behavior and I know that the rich and famous pay people...

Yeah, I recall that one with the self-sealing pyramid and the sinful lovers entombed in it. That pyramid was, indeed, sealed but by far more labor intensive means, not nearly as clever as the movie...

After seeing it, I think we just need a new "monster". Godzilla and all those big Japanese reptiles are used up.

Personally, I'd opt for a big slug that drowns its victims in slime. The only...

Re: What's the single worst film you've ever seen?

I've seen plenty of inept, cheap, cheesy movies, but "Worst" is a special word. That would be reserved for a flick I saw in something a long ago, somehow, not knowing what it was. It was a 1970...
