Both are correct. Still we all know Yoda has an extensive database of post facts somewhere, and i'm sure if he consulted it I'd be way down on SPP (smilies per post) ratio.

Sounds.

There used to be a stats section in the profiles that showed our average posts per day, but it went away with the redesign.

It's a shame there hasn't been a function where you can make a post disappear if you don't like it.

Like, it doesn't get removed from the site, but if you don't like it, you can click something and the post will disappear. You can unclick it and make it come back if you change your mind.

I was thinking about that, in a way. Not necessarily like that -- because that's just plain Jane boring -- but something else.

I'm feeling very... creative tonight with forum redesign thoughts.

Isn't there an "ignore" feature that does something like that?

Miss Vicky
04-12-15, 11:21 PM
I think he means his own posts.
Anyway, the ignore feature prevents you from seeing posts from certain people.

Swan - "that's what she said"

SC - Gong

Moviegal - The horrifying scream of Mads Mikkelsen.

Sci Fi Slob - That's racist!

Yeah, but this doesn't involve the hassle of the stupid "ignore" function. You put someone on ignore, all their posts are hidden. This is just something where you can make any individual post go away. Even your own, if you want.

Writing that post took a lot out of me, so I had to step away for a bit and clear my mind. I'm used to exposing myself anatomically, not emotionally. Logging back on to find so much +rep and so many heartwarming comments confirms everything I said about how genuinely caring you people are. Thank you.

Just because I revealed my real name in a state of vulnerability doesn't mean anybody's allowed to use it, though. I've had to endure Forrest Gump jokes for 20+ years now. They stopped being funny in 1995. (Coincidentally, the same year honeykid stopped being funny.) I couldn't even run in gym glass without hearing a chorus of "Run, Forrest, Run!"

True. Imagine being a kid named Forrest and Forrest Gump comes out. Even if you're not named Forrest, if you wind up running, someone might call you Forrest. But that movie probably made every boy named Forrest go through Hell. There is probably some kind of Forrest support group out there and Captain's a member of it.

I'll try not to joke about the name much.

Not a man. Just want to **** the man in my avatar. :randy:I'm definitely a fan of gender bending in that sense. But you know what I find interesting. I don't think there's as much difference between men and women as most people seem to think. There's a lot about people that we (everyone) assume based on how they look outwardly, but I bet most MoFo's didn't look like what you expected when they first submitted a picture of their real self. At least that's how I felt. Some people were spot on, others made a lot of sense, but at least half of them made me go, "Oh really, they look like that?"

Captain Spaulding, thanks for sharing your story, and sorry about a movie ruining your perfectly good name. I think Forrest is a great name, but kids are mean and they ruin things just for fun. I like my name just because so few people have it. I'd hate to be named Bill or Bob or Kevin or Nick or something like that.

And the Forrest Gump jokes don't actually bother me. I tend to speak pretty quietly, so lots of times when I'm introducing myself the person doesn't hear me correctly, so I have to repeat myself and say, "You know, like the movie? Forrest Gump?" Before I grew my hair long and people started calling me Jesus in high school, "Gump," was my nickname. I'm used to it. I just don't want people on here regularly referring to me as such since it ruins my Captain Spaulding persona. I'm a murderous, psychopathic clown, not a dimwitted Tom Hanks sitting on a bench waiting for a bus.

Maybe there needs to be a time where we call ourselves by our real names.

Maybe, Jason.

That feels weird, too. My brother's name is Jason.

Haven't watched too much this year. My fav of the ones I have was the Thunder -Suns match of Durant's return, Westbrook got fouled out before half time and Durant still managed to force a victory in OT. Personally I'd have Westbrook or Curry as MVP this year, how about you?

jiraffejustin
04-13-15, 03:52 AM
Can we just split the MVP three ways and give to Curry, Harden, and Westbrook? It's hard to say who should get it. I know who I want to get it, but I doubt Russ will get it. I have a feeling Curry will end up with the MVP, and it's hard to argue against him.

Camo
04-13-15, 03:58 AM
Personally I think Curry deserves it most. I really don't want Harden to win even though he's most likely, something always feels off about him and if the Thunder makes the playoffs I'd say his Rockets are the weakest in the West. Heres to a Bulls or Thunder Champion

I know I'm super late but wow, spectacular write-up Captain, as always.

And yeah MoFo has sort of changed the way I live too. Before joining MovieForums I had zero trust in an Internet Forum. A huge prejudice of them had formed due to previous failed experience of joining, or even finding a proper community to join, whether it being about games, books, music, or movies. I couldn't get into them because most places were infested with trolls, spambots, and nonsensical jibberish. Those sites didn't feel like 'forums', they felt like a giant lump of cyber-trash. Lastly I've found interacting people on a virtual world kind of harder than real life, because most of them are very sensitive and have social disorders, plus it just doesn't feel right if I don't speak to an individual in person, face to face.

Of course, about the weirdness and social disorders MoFo is no different (in fact there's even more, in fact the unaffected are the outsiders, and I admit I'm kind of a weirdo myself :p) but man... I don't know where to even start. The site only has an average of 15 members online at once but it booms with so much activity and fun! Every day when I'm done with tutoring and listening to boring classes I spend at least an hour catching up with all I missed because I know there's going to be plenty and I know its gon' be good. There are hardly no trolls, bad manners, rude internet sarcasm and generic memes and jokes. The amount of spambots isn't much of a difference compared to other sites but even waiting for bots to destroyed is a hell lot of fun. I remember when I spent hours with other members in the shoutbox waiting for the storm to end while joking and having fun, like little kids under a bridge playing games while waiting for rain to end.

I think MoFo has made me gain faith in people in general, and especially the Internet. Like CS I'm quite cynical and usually except the worst in people. Except for good friends and family and other acquaintances I know are one-of-a-kind warmhearted and friendly I've found most people really annoying and disturbing, and I always wanted to stay away from.

To confess, at first there were a few members on this site that I hated because they were a type of person I hate in real life and of course on the internet. But when they came to me with a warm smile and friendly replies I started to open up real fast. Since then, I am trying hard to get along with everybody and be a more understanding person, even if someone has contrasting beliefs and personalities, who knows, I may end up liking him/her for whatever reason, soon as in a few days or later as in a couple of years.

I want to end my post by thanking everything for a wonderful 5 months so far, and especially the fact that I placed 18th on the countdown despite being a non-American and having some serious time zone issues, once again. Thanks to everyone who voted for me, an even those who didn't vote for me, because everyone is equally cool in my opinion. Thanks to the admins who keep this wonderful site alive.

The End. Damn, this was exhausting. How does CS manage to do it every day? Anyways, this is a write-up by me that will not come to the world for a long, long time due to time and laziness, so enjoy when you can. :D

Fantastic write ups Captain Spaulding and Gatsby's... this proves that MoFo is much more than just a forum. I was once part of a teenage forum and it was kind of the same community feeling but as people grew up, it slowly died... I'm really glad I found this place :D

I was part of a Star Wars forum when I was a teenage, and a music forum in my early twenties. The Star Wars forum consisted of far too many weirdos, and a good amount of abusive trolls. Sometimes even the admins were really mean selfish people who jerked me around and treated me without respect. The music forum was a really aggressive place with a lot of arguing, insults, and trolling. Just a lot of ignorance and immaturity. I admit I was pretty ignorant and immature too. And I still get into argumentative trolling moods sometimes. Yoda is pretty good at giving me a little nudge if I say something too harsh. He puts in a lot of work for this community. I really like the guy. He's incredibly smart, and does so much to keep this place clean and fun.

Sometimes I post a lot, and go on movie binges, and then I get kind of burnt out and take a break. I think I'd like to find some balance in between. Stay more regularly and post a bit less but at least consistently. This is definitely the best forum I've ever been on. I make no promises to totally commit though. I have a lot of hobbies and I get pretty busy with other things sometimes. A lot of people here have really good taste in films, and over time I'm slowly learning to not be so critical of everything I don't like. I hope I can become a more significant part of the community. And I'm thankful for how everyone has been welcoming since I joined and treated me with respect. I've learned a lot about film since joining. You guys were actually a pretty significant influence on my film growth in the past year.

May as well have a go as well then :D

Joined the forum back in Jan 2012 and had some knowledge of movies. I'd joined a couple other movie sites but they were as everyone else has mentioned, full of trolls and had no real coherent order. Everyone in them was only interested in fighting.

My joining of MoFo was initially so I could write reviews. I had never actually written one before and my first ever post on here was a review. That post has since been edited though, it's the first post in my reviews thread.

When I got some replies and +reps, the first one was from Sedai :) , it kinda sparked my interest more in the site and I started taking notice of the other sections and could see something different about MoFo.

What's good about the site is that there are some real movie nerds on here, I mean that in a respectful way, and they're not arrogant about it, which is a very special thing.
Compared to other sites, the real anoraks tend to be right idiots.

It didn't take long either for me to become integrated either. I was welcomed in and found it very easy to become part of constructive conversations and was surprised that, in internet terms, I could crack jokes and not have someone take offence and start a fight.

Been here just over 3 years now and have learned so much more than I ever thought I could by simply being around the people who use this site... I feel I've grown as a movie fan too. There are so many more movies and genres out there and without my fellow MoFos I probably wouldn't have taken much notice of them.

I totally agree as well with what some have already said... MoFo is a forum of friends, almost a family even.
I mean, Deadite, is a guy I never actually met... but when he passed I was heartbroken. Seriously heartbroken. I even halted posting in my reviews thread for two months because the last post in there was from him.

MoFo is a growing circle of dedicated movie lovers, who help each other and support each other, occasionally bicker and wind each other up... but that's what families do.
At the end of it all though we still get along and have a giggle about it all.

And we have the Boss, Yoda, a guy who is always open to help you and also give you a slap if you've gone too far in terms of the rules... and let's not forget he actually bought out a dedicated server for the soul purpose of keeping MoFo running at maximum capacity when the site started getting a few problems.

We have a relaxed Mod group too who act more like a peacekeeping party rather than some power mad group of arrogant bitches you find on every other forum ever made.

Everyone here has had some sort of effect on my life, and it's enriching to know that it is possible to have something as pure as this website.
MoFo is a very special place and I'm glad to be part of it, part of your lives, and have you all a part of my life.

You all rock.
Doug.

So, after baby pics we are doing real names and big write ups now? I'll have a go then... I promise I am no Captain, but what the hell, I feel like venting.

This is the second forum I'm in. The other one was a pretty big one at some point (now it's almost dead due to dictator mods) and it was a very aggressive environment - a bit like a portuguese 4chan. Though I was there in my teens for a couple of years I never quite felt I was part of the thing... I never related to everyone there.
As a matter of fact, I never felt part of anything. I never felt part of the city where I was born, so I say I am from Porto - where I studied and lived for the past 5 or 6 years - but I am not part of it because I wasn't born here.
I study opera singing and I love it but just because of the music, I don't truly have strong connections to anyone there... I studied mechanical engineering before this and on a 7500 students university, I don't talk to anyone now, 3 years later.
I'm not a really anti-social person, I think everyone likes to talk to me once in a while and I don't really have enemies. But there's not a lot of people I'd actually call friend to. Even my mom thinks I have some form of autism. --'
I also have a problem with talking - and this is new to everyone here - cause I do it really fast and I sometimes stutter, which makes a lot of the attempts of jokes I make go uncomprehended.

So, all this to say that I'm quite new here, I've been here for only 7 months or so. And for the first 5 or 6 months I felt like I did with every place - I liked being around, people can stand me but I was not really part of the community as Captain, Swan, HK, MV, Sexy and so many more great members are. Only MG talked to me frequently - and we too had some problems, luckily solved now - and I talked with HK and Swan from time to time (2 certified great guys, my first 2 of the list).
But that has been changing recently, not that I've been talking to more people, but I feel more like a true member, in some way... And a #31 ranking felt really good, I can assure you that!

I changed a lot personally during the last year. My way of looking at the world, at art, at people changed. I feel more balanced in a way, more mature. And a lot of that is because of cinema, and because of you people! You made me feel welcome and liked, you still do everyday and in the process you fueled my passion for cinema.

This is so much more than a forum - Yoda, you must be proud of the family you created, it really changes the lives of people.

Thanks to all for being part of it. :)

Ah, and my real name is Luís, Luís Neiva (hence the Neiba)

Nice write-ups.. I think it's because of the topic matter - film. Film is about life, and so it's natural we stray away and talk everything. I used to be on a different movie forum, and it was full of trolls, you could post anonymously, and then someone said, "MOFO is for serious movie lovers" - by the way, who recommended me from this site? Grateful to ya.

It's great that I'm actually kinda in the mainstream with my movie taste. If no one has seen the movies you've seen, there's not much conversation. It's been great getting AMAZING recommendations from you guys, and each movie changes your life to a varying degree. And it's also nice just to be a community... Someone mentioned no more than 15 are online at the same time, but each person contributes quite a lot. I used to be the moderator of a sports board, oh my gosh - I remember people threatening each other (since we were all near the Detroit area), and I had to be the ref. But I'm still a member of the biggest Pink Floyd site in the world, and we're so close, about 20 of us met up in Toronto, from all over the world, talked for a few hours, saw the Dark Side of the Moon Tour, and resumed hanging out. Friends of mine who met for the first time have been together ever since. The sad thing was the guy who planned the whole thing died a few days before the show, but his wife came with his jersey. A few years later, I met up with a few in England, and we met up to see Roger Waters' lead guitarist sitting in a tiny pub, so it was nice talking, taking pictures for the memory. I think it's great to maintain good relationships with whoever you're talking to. Bad blood streams in everyone's bloodstream.

About the NBA - OKC might be done.. Westbrook is suspended next game (watch them win), and Anthony Davis is going to be the #1 player in the NBA soon. It's going to be one of the most exciting playoffs in a long time, as so many teams are really great. I see a Cavs-Spurs Finals, but who knows.... I just don't want any more injuries - it hurts the game. It would be like movie actors dying - even if some aren't the greatest, they have an effect, just like we all do.

Jurassic Park (1993) 7/10
Great action/adventure flick... it's a classic for good reason and I can't believe I haven't seen it before, except for some bits and pieces of it on TV. What really stands out is the score by the great John Williams who is responsible for some of the most popular film scores in history.

Yeah, I really truly want to encourage all members to comment some more when people have used their time putting together something for all of us. That is including myself, I also want to post more in other people's thread and comment on their work rather than just rep it. Rep is good, but when it goes with a reply it becomes more personal, and you know what they actually repped you for, rather than they perhaps just liked the film you saw or whatever...

A comment/reply always means a whole lot more. Even if you don't have time to do more than one sentence.

All I ask is for members to post that one single sentence. If we all did that the positivity, the response, the happiness, just everything would be a lot more fun! :) C'mon people let's do it!

I think JayDee and I are going to start a coalition against Improper Usage of +Rep.

Trust me, Optimus, I know how frustrating it is. When I first joined, I used to get discouraged when I'd take the time to write up my thoughts on a movie, only to get like 3 or 4 +rep for my effort, then I'd see someone on the same page post nothing but a screenshot and a rating and get like 10 +rep. It sends the wrong message, in my opinion. I'm a firm believer in +repping people based on effort, but a lot of people only +rep posts that echo their own opinion.

If a person takes time out of their day to write a few sentences about a movie, I think that person deserves to be patted on the back. That way the person will continue to put forth a consistent effort and thus make this place more enriching and fulfilling and continue to add to all the excellent content that we already have around here. You can post a 5 rating for Pulp Fiction without any context and I won't +rep you, but if you write two or three paragraphs about it, even if you rate it 1, then I'll (begrudgingly) +rep you.

Plus the longer you stick around, the more +rep you'll average. People will eventually take notice of your effort and you'll build more and more relationships and people will care more about what you have to say about the films you watch. I appreciate the effort you put into your reviews, Optimus. Others do, too. The +rep will come in time.

Agreed with Spaulding. One of the most annoying things too is the triple rep method of posting the movie you've watched in the "Movie You're Watching Tonight" thread, then posting it with a rating in "Rate the last movie you saw" and then posting it with a couple of others in "Movie Tab II". I try and take care and effort with the majority of my posts, and normally give out rep for what Spaudling describes as great posts, or if something makes me laugh out loud.

Also thanks for everyone for voting for me in this. Unfortunately I wasn't around to submit a list or follow the countdown, but it looked fun. Swan probably would have been number one on my list too, truly one of the nicest guys I have ever met, and his posts seem to always make me laugh or smile.

But they shouldn't get in the way of communication!

Those of you who write reviews may want to start posting in the Movie Tab and Rate the Last Move You Saw threads, and include a link with your post.

I fully admit that I have the attention span of a goldfish and rarely read reviews. I also rarely enter review threads unless it's a MoFo I'm especially fond of (and even then, if I go into your review thread and rep you, there's a good chance I didn't actually read the review. Sorry). I do frequently check the Rate The Last Movie and Movie Tabs though because I see what several MoFos have been up to in a quick glance.

People post things like "full thoughts in the HOF thread" with their ratings all the time. Don't see why saying "full review here" is any worse.

You can post a rating_5 rating for Pulp Fiction without any context and I won't +rep you, but if you write two or three paragraphs about it, even if you rate it rating_1, then I'll (begrudgingly) +rep you.

Well, if it's like Facebook and people are getting more rep by just posting a picture... then that's like Facebook. Post a picture and many people will like it.

Not everyone wants to read a lot. So, if you post a picture, it can be a lot more attractive to somebody than just a bunch of text. That's just how it is. It might be frustrating to write a lot, and the post with the picture gets more rep, but the picture was ultimately more satisfying to people.

Text doesn't always win. You don't go to a museum for text, you go to a museum for paintings. Images are powerful things. Use a good one and you can get attention that way.

Joined the forum back in Jan 2012 and had some knowledge of movies. I'd joined a couple other movie sites but they were as everyone else has mentioned, full of trolls and had no real coherent order. Everyone in them was only interested in fighting.

You know... people could probably think the same thing about this place. I'm just saying... everyone thinks this forum is so different... but I could believe people could walk away from this place thinking it's bad, too.

Well, when Miss Vicky finished calculating the results, I was just so pleased by what I saw 'cause it looked different than last year's.

Obviously, first I laughed at the fact that Honeykid was #2 and not #1, and it didn't bother me at all that Swan had taken my #1 spot. I said recently that, considering everything -- looking at all the many different angles, Swan was the #1 MoFo right now. I said this before I decided to do this countdown. This just proved I was right (I like to be right). He is just the star of the show now. He is a friendly, visible, fresh, memorable, recognizable, powerhouse of a member. He is a much warmer, less threatening kind of character than me. He is very 2015. I think he's kind of understated, too. He sort of has an underdog kind of quality to him. I love how prophetic and cheering on Nostromo87 was on the first page of this thread with the swan pictures and saying, "Swan could win this!!" Nostromo, just like Nostradamus, saw the future.

And then Cricket was also so high on the list and that was a big surprise to me, but it was so deserved. He was my #2 and I don't even know if I had him on my list the last time. He is probably the most soulful member here, and yet at the same time there is this brute masculinity to him that I like. He is a real man, a strong man, sensitive yet aggressive. I loved that the Top 3 was all different from the last Top MoFos countdown and I was so glad he was there.

Then I was #4. Which really made me quite happy. I knew I most likely wouldn't be #1 again. People are too jealous of me. They shouldn't be. But I really feared being out of the Top 10 and maybe being in the teens or twenties, or at absolute worst, the 30's. Sorry to all you 30's people. One day I'll probably be there.

So... thanks to those who voted for me.

And Honeykid... I really expected him to be #1 this time. That would have upset me a little, I admit. The poop picture I gave him was totally a revenge for him taking my Funniest MoFo MoFie, which I do deserve to have. But whatever.

It's not that Honeykid is a bad member or I hate him now -- I don't. But I sometimes don't really understand his massive appeal, although I am learning about his tricks better now since I'm really laser watching. His user title, "MoFo Whisperer", was thought up by me, because of his ability to make people come to him, to feel soothed by him, accepted, loved, cared for. He totally deserves the "Best Friend" MoFie, whatever's it called, probably every time.

Plus, I can't be bitter about his popularity here because I am really in the same boat, if not worse. There are people here who may despise me for being such a high ranking MoFo and I completely understand why. I do not seem to take movies as seriously as everyone else here. This is called MOVIE Forums, afterall. I assure you, though, that I do have a passion for movies, no matter how f'ed up it might be. I support Asian Cinema, anime, foreign movies, all of that. I'll scream about placements on countdowns, but that's only because I truly feel you all are ignoring some of the real groundbreaking greats in favor of the tiny zits that the world at large did not notice, will never notice and do not care for. That's snotty and false. Art is something that makes a big impression, it's not something that gets only a little attention. All of life is art and only the strong survive. Honeykid and I, after a decade, are real artists here. We have survived. Same goes for Mark F, Godoggo, Miss Vicky, Yoda (whose artistry built this little piece of online heaven)... and now we have The Gunslinger45 and our newest strong edition, Captain Spaulding, my younger brother from Hell.

Anyway... I'm very proud of this Countdown. I am glad Miss Vicky got to be a co-partner with me this time. And I love that yesterday when it ended, the site experienced its second busiest day in all of its history.

Thank you very, very much, everyone who contributes to this forum.

Doesn't it have to perhaps be relevant to you, or have an impact on you in some way, or have importance to you in one way or the other? Even if it's just one of these or all of them, I would think they are quite relevant to whether or not an image will touch your soul and mind. Wouldn't you agree.

Maybe not "blown away" ... but for a moment, it's a visual escape. And that can be a much needed visual escape for the person in that moment. More than the burden of reading text.

I think text is basically a translation of images, anyway. You read text, you imagine the text in your mind as images. At least, that's what I do. Thus, images are ultimately more dominant because even when you read, you're imagining, you're visualizing.......

But how does someone even gain a "following?"

How does someone do it? How is it someone winds up a well known member here, and someone else fails at it? How did Captain Spaulding go from #79 to #7 in a year? Why didn't someone else do that?

It's hard to say, I think, really, how someone becomes successful at something, and someone else fails. Like, how the Hell did I happen to end up being #1 and #4 on the countdown? Especially when I'm not a major movie person here like so many others. I mean, I can understand why people would be pissed off by me. As far as rep goes, I toss it out plenty. It's so easy to do and is a positive so why not, but the reason I do it in many instances is not the work in the post, but the work before the post. If someone takes the time to listen to 16 songs in a tournament or two hours to watch a movie out of their comfort zone, that's significant to me. I take notice of the opinions but I'm often hustling around so don't have time to post a response; rep is a quick hey, I'm paying attention. As far as receiving it, it's a positive but doesn't effect me either way.

Yeah, some people have been kinda picky and verbal about their feelings of how "rep should only be given out when it's really significant!" I particularly remember Holden Pike being this way back in the day........

Besides, writing reviews should not be the obvious thing you do here at Movie Forums.

Sure, it's a forum about movies, but that doesn't mean you need to instantly turn into another Roger Ebert because of that -- nor do you even need to make Top 100 Movie lists of your own if you don't want to.

DO SOMETHING ELSE!

You might invent something new.

Look at me -- I started the movie commentary thing. That had never really been done before here. Now it's a lot more common to see.

honeykid
04-13-15, 06:06 PM
Timing's important. Some things work, some things don't. For example, TONGO did the movie commentary first, but not in the way SC did it. Plus, let's face it, TONGO isn't SC. TONGO made a little thread and posted in it, but SC is a big hub here. When he does things they get noticed. For better or worse (and he'd be the first to say it works both way for him) it gets seen. TUS tried to do a few things years ago which are now very popular. It just wasn't the right time. Or the right people. Either way, it didn't take off.

Posting US evening/night time is a big plus, though. I'm not able to do it any more and I really notice it.

Sexy Celebrity

Well, maybe I had something to do with commentaries getting kicked off, but I also just didn't like the way TONGO did them once I finally noticed them. He would watch a movie, but edit a post to say something like...

The thing with reviews is that a lot of people don't have the time to read too many of those because they are long and take too much to got through... I'd rather read a paragraph to get an idea what someone liked/disliked about a movie, especially if it's something I haven't watched yet.

I feel that people who write reviews do it more for themselves, because they like it... but maybe I'm wrong.
Yes and no. Of course I write for myself as well because I really like it, but I write just as much for everybody else. It's never one more than the other. Maybe it is more me for the full length ones in my Cinema Reviews Thread, but my diary thread it's 50/50.

And people have different view points on doing reviews and what they like in them, we even had a thread once with people discussing what they like to see/don't want to see in a review. People are all different and want different things.

Personally, I obviously do reviews like how I want to read them myself. I have wanted to do a post in a long time that centered around why and how I do my reviews, because I really want people to see what makes it more than just text - even if it's just like that to myself... But I'm sure there are people here who rather enjoys long and detailed reviews, just as I'm sure there are people who enjoy them short and precise.

Personally, I like to write reviews that are more than just a view point of a film, but I do it just as much for it to be art in itself. I focus on every sentence and every paragraph because I like to express myself through text. I like to play with words, syllables, rimes and so on. Something that makes it fun and interesting to read. Therefore I especially see reviews as being more than just that; reviews. At least they are to me.

Anyways, that was more detailed than I planned it to be right at this moment. :D

Another thing about luck ---

I am always surprised by what threads become popular or get a lot of posts, and what don't.

I really feel like you can't plan these things. The unexpected stuff becomes popular. Like, I didn't think movie commentaries would take off the way they did.

Even when I started The Top MoFos Countdown Part 2, and even with the first one, I feared I might screw it up somehow and it would turn out to be a bust.

The "I Love You" thread was never meant to be something still going on after a decade.

It is strange. Often when you see a new thread the title tells you it's one of SC's. Now, without wishing to sound like a ****, I often see them and think "oh, God. Not another one. That's worse than the last one." but it's surprising which ones take off and how. Some hit straight away, burn for a few days/week or so and then disapear. Others, and SC's already mentioned the king of them all, just go on and on. Sometimes they go, but someone will revive it and it'll chug along again. It's really quite interesting.

But that's why I do them. Now I know everyone rolls their eyes at them so much that I just wanna make threads that get worse and worse! :D

I think it is, too. Like, I'm surprised The MoFo Sleep Thread is almost at 200 posts.

I'm sure it is. TBH, I think you've made more of them in the last year or so that all the rest of your time here combined. :D

You're the king of threads, SC. So why would you rather win Most Funny MoFo as opposed to Most Creative MoFo?

Because he's had no competition for Most Creative MoFo. There's a couple here now, but I still think SC beats them.

I have wanted to do a post in a long time that centered around why and how I do my reviews, because I really want people to see what makes it more than just text - even if it's just like that to myself... :D

You should, I'd read them, sounds interesting. I like how when we delve further into our thinking.

It is interesting to see why things on here trend, what causes shifts, influence, etc etc.

Yeah I mean, if enough people are actually interested in what goes on behind the curtains, what my thought process is like when I write, and how and why I build and contruct my reviews as I do, then sure I'll make such post. ;) I might do it anyhow, cause as I said, I've always wanted to do it.

No idea. :D He might've as he did a lot of work for those mofies and it was often seen and appreciated by everyone. For me, it's still SC though as it's not just graphics/photoshop.

Plus, he loves Rodent. ;)

Rodent is absolutely creative. Might need to split the 1 award into 2, Creative Graphics and Creative Threads.

I believe I have. I think I made over 100 threads last year alone.

Haha what's that? I don't think I've seen it.

Well, here, I made one for you:

I love you, Sexy Celebrity (http://www.movieforums.com/community/showthread.php?t=2228)

Give me an answer A.S.A.P. !!!!!!

You're the king of threads, SC. So why would you rather win Most Funny MoFo as opposed to Most Creative MoFo?

I want both!

And honestly, I deserve the Funniest MoFo award more than Most Creative simply because I don't mind losing that one.

Because he's had no competition for Most Creative MoFo. There's a couple here now, but I still think SC beats them.

I have competition in that category. But I don't really mind losing the award because being the Most Creative just isn't all that important to me.

I'd rather win Best Thread or Best Game Thread or even Worst Thread. I was disgusted that Godoggo got rid of the Worst Thread category this past year because I'm sure I would have won it.

And I truly think it's disgraceful that HK won my Funniest MoFo award. I will be rude here because it's what I honestly feel. He's NOT that funny. He never makes me laugh a lot. A lot of what he says is downright ugly. Maybe you guys laugh at it because he's often dissing me or something else, but I just don't think it's funny.

I have seen people be genuinely funny at my expense and I'll gladly say that I thought what they said was good.... HK doesn't say anything funny. I think you guys merely use him to piss me off now. It's a way of getting back at me. Either that or you guys have horrible taste.

Well, I like the fact that Rodent can get an award, so I don't mind him having that. It's true -- I love Rodent for some reason. I think he puts a lot of effort into this site. I was saddened to see him fall to #21 on the Top MoFos Countdown this year. He should have at least been in the teens.
