Man, it didn't take me long to fall behind.

bluedeed was my #20. I haven't interacted with him much, but I love reading his posts. He might be the most intelligent person on the forum. He seems to know everything about the history of cinema and every major director, regardless of era, genre or nationality. I feel like he's also better at seeing behind the curtain than anyone else on here when it comes to how he watches films. Anyone can watch a film and comment on the plot and the characters and the dialogue, but he has an amazing eye for shot composition and lighting and all other aspects of film that most viewers don't pick up on. To use an analogy from The Matrix, he's like Neo. He sees the code while the rest of us just see faces. I also feel like he does a great job of trying to poke and prod people into digging a little deeper in their viewing habits, to think a little more critically, a little more scholarly, but without ever talking down to the person. Our collective IQ is a lot higher with his presence.

Blue Lion, Lucas, Iroquois, Neiba and Cobpyth were all on my list as well. I'll write about them in a second.

I've seen him engage in multiple discussions and debates during my time here and I feel like he always comes out on top (sorry, Blue Lion ;)). He never seems to lose his cool, either, always maintaining the same level of class as the classic icons in his avatars. He's also responsible for my single favorite post on here when he said, "Captain, you're a legendary son of a bitch," after I posted my Best New MoFo award speech. When I'm having a bad day, I think of that quote and it always brings a smile to my face. He deserves to be much, much higher on this countdown.

Iroquois was my #17. His "Everything Sucks!" rating system annoys the hell out of me and I think he has a tendency of reading posts too literally (especially mine), but his Movie a Day Thread is one of the best threads we have going, in my opinion. A lot of people have created similar threads, but most fizzle out. I've been in awe of the number of films Iro has been watching this year and the amount of dedication and effort he has put into his thread. Even if he's way too critical of films, his write-ups are five-star quality. He's obviously a very smart guy. He's articulate, thoughtful in his responses, and a very talented writer.

Nostromo87 was my #7. He adopts his Invisible Man persona a little too often and lurks in the shadows, reading and +repping but not posting, otherwise he would be higher on this countdown. I think he's one of the coolest cats on the forum. I love his stylish write-ups. I love his creative threads. If I could hang out with any member of the forum in real life, it would be him. We could watch slashers together while we stand in chairs tossing a baseball into a mitt and then later exercise to Carmen Electra striptease videos while cranking some Muddy Waters . . . If I ranked my list purely based on how much I like each member, he would've been even higher, but I penalized him just a bit for not posting more often.

Lucas was my #18. He's another guy who really stood out to me when I first joined. The guy was always watching a very interesting, wide array of films and sharing with us excellent write-ups. He was also one of the first members with whom I interacted and he always seemed to +rep me or compliment my posts. Then he started disappearing for long stretches at a time, or so it seemed. I've been very pleased to see him back in the fold as of late. If he was more active, he'd be near my top ten. He's one of the most underrated members of the forum, in my opinion.

Neiba was my #19. He's one of our best new members. A lot of new people join and it takes me awhile to separate them from the pack, but Neiba had no trouble immediately standing out and making his presence known. I've always enjoyed reading his thoughts on movies and I'm happy to see that he recently created his own review thread, which I think has the potential to become a great success if he keeps it up and running. He has a great personality, a good sense of humor and he's always very friendly and warm to talk to. Very likable guy.

Blue Lion was my #23. His back-and-forth with Cobpyth is the most memorable spat I've seen during my time here. For whatever reason, Blue Lion consistently finds himself in those situations. (I think I recall a recent one with Harry Lime.) I don't really understand why, because I've always enjoyed my few interactions with the guy. I wish people would attack him less for his opinions, because I've always enjoyed reading his thoughts on films. Even when I disagree with him, I don't feel annoyed with him like I do with some members. He's someone I'd like to interact with more in the future and yet another member who I think is highly underrated.
