I can't believe I'm top three. Some of you said I would be but I didn't believe you, so I'm quite shocked.

I stayed out of this thread for most of it because I hate popularity contests. Why? Because I don't want to rank my friends. I seriously love you all. Despite my bickering with some of you (gb ;)), I always try to resolve whatever argument we may have had, because I don't want to have a grudge or a problem.

The good thing about this countdown is not the beginning, when we see the low numbers and, at least for me, feel bad seeing such great members not place very high. The good thing is the ending, when it becomes nothing but love and praise for each other.

I've made thank you posts in the past and I always talk about how you guys have helped me through a lot. I don't want to get repetitive, so I won't say much about that. But you guys - some of you especially - have embraced my incredibly paranoid, schizophrenic brain with open arms, and have talked me through my problems, and that means a lot to me. I've gained a lot of really close friends here, and I seriously hope we stay in touch until we're dead. I picture us becoming grandpas and grandmas and sharing that fact with the forum. That might sound lame to some, but I hope it happens. I hope we're all talking when we're in our 80's.

I'm no Captain Spaulding when it comes to writing thank you posts, but I hope that'll do. :)

I only voted for Swan, but I wasn't even going to vote at all. Like Swan said, popularity contests aren't really my thing. Of course, it feels good to be liked, but I don't know how to rank anybody outside of Swan. Here's my full list. Don't fret or feel bad about your placement or whether or not you made the list. Twenty-five entries isn't enough. I genuinely like and care about (almost) everybody here. Plus I put together my list as soon as SC made this thread. If I had known that he was going to show restraint and patience for once I would've waited and put more thought into my list. There are some people I forgot about-- Miss Vicky being my biggest blunder-- and others who it made me sad not to include (jj, rauldc14, Sci-fi Slob, etc.) I had to stop with the write-ups since the Countdown was moving too quickly for me to keep up, but I'll go back and say mushy things about the other people on my list, as well as the few who barely missed the cut or should have made my list. I'll also write a proper thank you to the people who voted for me. I've been running around my house doing cartwheels and jumping off furniture ever since I showed up in the top ten, so I'm going to take a break and come back later and probably write a gazillion words.

Also a huge round of applause to my soul mate, Sexy Celebrity, for doing an amazing job with the Countdown. This is definitely a sequel that surpasses the original, and I'm not just saying that because of how much higher I placed. Unfortunately I missed almost the entire reveal of this list because I've been taking care of a very sick rabbit, (who's doing a little bit better today :) ). I've been trying to read this whole thread so fast that I haven't had a chance to reply or rep anything. I'll try to sum up my replies here, and I'll go back through the thread later tonight and rep everyone who deserves rep.

Thank you to everyone who included me on your lists, and also Thank You to those of you who considered me for your list, even if I didn't make your list. I thought I had a slight chance of ranking somewhere in the higher numbers (maybe between 80 to 100), but I never thought I had a chance to rank as high as I did. I really appreciate it. :)

I've never been good at making ranked lists, and I seriously considered not sending in a list for this because I knew it would be next to impossible to narrow it down to only 25 people, and rank them, and I didn't want to cause any hurt feelings either by ranking someone too low, or by leaving someone off my list who deserved to be on it, but I just didn't have the room for everyone. I ultimately decided to send in a list because I thought it was unfair to everyone here who deserved to be on the list if I didn't send in a list. (Truth be told, I was hoping that the window to submit our lists would close before I had a chance to finish my list so I would have had a good excuse not to submit a list.)

My complete list is below, but here is a quick explanation of the basic way that I compiled my list.

#1 was the easiest choice for me because Citizen Rules and I have been online friends for a long time. We both came to this site around the same time because we were looking for a movie chat board to join together, and this one was the best one that we found on the Internet.

#2 was another easy choice for me because Yoda is a fantastic site admin. Not just for the wonderful site that he created, but also because of how well he maintains the site. He's constantly trying to improve the site. He's quick to fix any problems that occur on the site. He's smart, funny, helpful, and more. (I'm surprised that he wasn't #1 on the MoFo list.)

As I went through the rest of the list, the next set of people that I included are the people who I have the most interaction with on a daily basis.

#3 through #5 are the people who read my Logbook thread and seem to know my movie tastes better than I know them. These are the people who are probably the best at recommending movies that they think I'l like, and they're usually right.

Gideon58 made it to #6 on my list because I love reading all of Gideon's lists. These lists are original and fun, and I always look forward to the updates, and I'm always looking forward to seeing the subject of the next list.

The rest of my list is made up of the people who add a lot to this community. People like Sexy Celebrity who makes fun and unique threads, Godoggo who's a pro at running tournaments and more, plus all the super nice people who make me smile everyday, the people whose movie knowledge, movie reviews, fun conversations, funny comments, interaction in the game threads, and more keep this site running smooth, like a well-oiled machine.

I just wish I could have typed really small while making my list, and maybe jammed 50 people into my top 25 because there were so many people who were just bubbling under my list who deserved to be on it. Thank You to everyone who makes this community the best site on the Internet. :up:

I know this is a few days too late, but I don't think it would be fair to you if you were excluded from this. Your contributions to this site are not just about running the site, but about the way that you run the site.

You didn't just start the site and then let it run itself. In addition to being an active participant in the site, you also make sure that everything runs smooth. You care about the site. You tweak it when it needs small changes, you upgrade it when it needs a major change, and you do everything possible to keep it up-to-date. You don't let this site get stagnant.

I simply had to go to bed because it was so damn late, and I ended up missing out when I appeared on the list! Dammit. But anyways, now that I have the opportunity to comment on everything, then I must say, that I'm extremely grateful to show up this high on the list - it was more that I could ever hope for. When I look through all the members who appear below me I'm actually quite surprised, because there are plenty of amazing members who didn't make it as high as they should have. And when I look at all the members who appeared higher than me I can't do nothing else but be happy with where I was placed. All those members in the Top 25 are what this forum is all about. It is pretty much the very core of our community! The only member who bothers me slightly is Gatsby, who has been here just one month less than I have, but still beat me out by quite some spots! :p ...On the other hand, he has participated in a whole lot and even created Top Lists, all the while I still haven't create just one myself yet (I can gladly tell you though, that the long overdue Top Horror List of mine is done, and is coming up very very soon :)).

That brings me to the fact that, considering I haven't been on this forum for more than 6 months; that I haven't created one single Top or Favorites List; that I have only particpated in one Hall of Fame and one Commentary; but still I managed to make it to the 26th spot! That is so unbelievably cool and I wanna thank everyone who voted for me, it really means a lot. Not that some random vote on some random list means something in itself, but the fact that there is nice and friendly people behind all those creative usernames, all with individual personalities and tastes, who are using this time and this list to talk about all of what we appreciate about each other.This is probably the best kind of list together with Top MoFies Awards, because we get to praise and have fun with each other in a way that is truly unique and different from we usually do around here. Even considering we were going at Sexy-high-speed, there was plenty of space and time for people to check in and comment on whoever showed up and why they are a great member to them, personally. As I have said before, this is most definitely the best forum I have ever been apart of, and everything we do here is on a whole other level than most forums around the web.

Lasty, I just want to say thanks once again to the people who voted for me, and also for those who didn't. I just love this community and pretty much every member has some kind of quality to them, and I would love to have been able to fill up 25 places more on my list, but unfortunately I was bound to only 25, and whoever didn't make my list thankfully made someone else's. I will definitely stay active around here for as long and as much as possible, and also try to interact more by every day... After all, this is the only place where I have a group of people who are all interested in film in the same way I am, so thank you all for being movie fanatics - and it doesn't hurt that you are all nice people on top of that. ;)

Congratulations to Swan. :) I don't mind losing to you at all. TBH, I was hoping to stay top 5, but there's been some really good members join/be more active in the last couple of years and top 10 would've been fine with me. So to not only stay top 5 but move up a couple of places is fantastic. Obviously being #1 would've been even better, but that really would've been the result of higher placings over popularity because I have no doubt that Swan is more popular and, therefore, rightly at the top of the list.

As many of you will know I've been having my struggles of late and it's just nice to know this place and all its wonderful people is here waiting for me. In fact were it not for this place I imagine I'd have had a much tougher time over the last year or two, it's been a great form of support. Well, when Miss Vicky finished calculating the results, I was just so pleased by what I saw 'cause it looked different than last year's.

Obviously, first I laughed at the fact that Honeykid was #2 and not #1, and it didn't bother me at all that Swan had taken my #1 spot. I said recently that, considering everything -- looking at all the many different angles, Swan was the #1 MoFo right now. I said this before I decided to do this countdown. This just proved I was right (I like to be right). He is just the star of the show now. He is a friendly, visible, fresh, memorable, recognizable, powerhouse of a member. He is a much warmer, less threatening kind of character than me. He is very 2015. I think he's kind of understated, too. He sort of has an underdog kind of quality to him. I love how prophetic and cheering on Nostromo87 was on the first page of this thread with the swan pictures and saying, "Swan could win this!!" Nostromo, just like Nostradamus, saw the future.

And then Cricket was also so high on the list and that was a big surprise to me, but it was so deserved. He was my #2 and I don't even know if I had him on my list the last time. He is probably the most soulful member here, and yet at the same time there is this brute masculinity to him that I like. He is a real man, a strong man, sensitive yet aggressive. I loved that the Top 3 was all different from the last Top MoFos countdown and I was so glad he was there.

Then I was #4. Which really made me quite happy. I knew I most likely wouldn't be #1 again. People are too jealous of me. They shouldn't be. But I really feared being out of the Top 10 and maybe being in the teens or twenties, or at absolute worst, the 30's. Sorry to all you 30's people. One day I'll probably be there.

So... thanks to those who voted for me.

And Honeykid... I really expected him to be #1 this time. That would have upset me a little, I admit. The poop picture I gave him was totally a revenge for him taking my Funniest MoFo MoFie, which I do deserve to have. But whatever.

It's not that Honeykid is a bad member or I hate him now -- I don't. But I sometimes don't really understand his massive appeal, although I am learning about his tricks better now since I'm really laser watching. His user title, "MoFo Whisperer", was thought up by me, because of his ability to make people come to him, to feel soothed by him, accepted, loved, cared for. He totally deserves the "Best Friend" MoFie, whatever's it called, probably every time.

Plus, I can't be bitter about his popularity here because I am really in the same boat, if not worse. There are people here who may despise me for being such a high ranking MoFo and I completely understand why. I do not seem to take movies as seriously as everyone else here. This is called MOVIE Forums, afterall. I assure you, though, that I do have a passion for movies, no matter how f'ed up it might be. I support Asian Cinema, anime, foreign movies, all of that. I'll scream about placements on countdowns, but that's only because I truly feel you all are ignoring some of the real groundbreaking greats in favor of the tiny zits that the world at large did not notice, will never notice and do not care for. That's snotty and false. Art is something that makes a big impression, it's not something that gets only a little attention. All of life is art and only the strong survive. Honeykid and I, after a decade, are real artists here. We have survived. Same goes for Mark F, Godoggo, Miss Vicky, Yoda (whose artistry built this little piece of online heaven)... and now we have The Gunslinger45 and our newest strong edition, Captain Spaulding, my younger brother from Hell.

Anyway... I'm very proud of this Countdown. I am glad Miss Vicky got to be a co-partner with me this time. And I love that yesterday when it ended, the site experienced its second busiest day in all of its history.

I can't believe I'm top three. Some of you said I would be but I didn't believe you, so I'm quite shocked.

I stayed out of this thread for most of it because I hate popularity contests. Why? Because I don't want to rank my friends. I seriously love you all. Despite my bickering with some of you (gb ;)), I always try to resolve whatever argument we may have had, because I don't want to have a grudge or a problem.

The good thing about this countdown is not the beginning, when we see the low numbers and, at least for me, feel bad seeing such great members not place very high. The good thing is the ending, when it becomes nothing but love and praise for each other.

I've made thank you posts in the past and I always talk about how you guys have helped me through a lot. I don't want to get repetitive, so I won't say much about that. But you guys - some of you especially - have embraced my incredibly paranoid, schizophrenic brain with open arms, and have talked me through my problems, and that means a lot to me. I've gained a lot of really close friends here, and I seriously hope we stay in touch until we're dead. I picture us becoming grandpas and grandmas and sharing that fact with the forum. That might sound lame to some, but I hope it happens. I hope we're all talking when we're in our 80's.

Swan's got the right things going for him. The graceful and kind persona of a swan, balanced with enthusiasm for all kinds of horror as well as arthouse films- that gets street cred with everyone on the site. Plus he's just a cool dude to talk to whether it's about movies, music, or anything really. Plus, he has the common courtesy to give reach-arounds. Oh dear! Have i gone too far :shifty:;)

Anyways, i think lots of MoFos have the goods to be #1, and i'm not one who pushes for the 'give everyone a trophy' mentality. It is a challenge to finish #1, in anything really, with lots of factors in play. I just think this was a fun countdown, so thanks to Sexy Celebrity and Miss Vicky for bringing it together. I liked some of the psychology Sexy got into a little while ago with some of the rankings, maybe i'll revisit this thread later on today and share some of my thoughts as well

Okay, now it's my turn to get all sappy . . .

You know how comedians put on a fake smile in public, investing all their energy into making others laugh and feel good about themselves, while on the inside the comedian is often sad and lonely and depressed? I'm not saying that I'm sad and lonely and depressed, but the dichotomy is very similar between how I act on here and how I am in the real world. Despite the big, boisterous, egocentric things I say on here, I'm incredibly humbled and flattered and honored to place so high on the countdown. I was crossing my fingers for top twenty, so to see myself in the top ten alongside names like Miss Vicky and Yoda and Mark F is surreal to me. It doesn't compute. My Captain Spaulding persona may be pumping his fist and saying, "Hell, yeah, bitches, bask in my glory," but the real me, the guy behind the clown makeup, the guy sitting at his laptop, is shaking his head and saying, "I don't deserve this." Last night I felt like popping open a bottle of champagne and pouring it all over myself, but when I woke up this morning and the accomplishment really sank in, I became very emotional. You guys have no idea how much it really means to me.

Last week when everybody was posting baby pictures, I was going through photos of my childhood, looking for pictures to share, and I was reminded once again of how much better my life was back then. I was a happy child. I enjoyed acting goofy and having fun and making people laugh. In elementary school, once I got over my initial shyness, I was always the class clown. But eventually things took a turn for the worse. For a long time, my life was very rough, very stressful, very trying. I lost my smile. At times I even lost my will to live. My life is okay now, but I feel like something inside of me died during those years. I compare the boy in the pictures to the man in the mirror and they are two different people. Not because of the physical changes, but because there is a light in the boy's eyes that is now extinguished in mine. I have a very dark view of the world. I always assume the worst in people. I've lost my ability to trust others. If things are good today, my mind interprets that to mean that things will be bad tomorrow. It's a miserable way to feel.

Ever since I joined this forum, however, life has felt better. The sun shines a little brighter. Instead of being sullen and quiet and walking around like I hate everybody, I wake up most mornings in a good mood. I've got pep in my step. I smile more often, crack jokes more often. I feel, for the first time in a long time, happy. And it's all because of you guys. I only joined this forum to write about movies. Now that's secondary to me. I just enjoy coming here every day and hanging out with friends, having a good time, sharing a laugh, hearing about what everybody's been up to. There have been times in my life when I've felt alone in the world. Seven billion people on the planet and I can't reach out to a single one of them. Now I feel like I have an entire community who cares about me. You guys give me strength. You make me feel good about myself again. You instill in me the kind of confidence that I need to continue striving for personal goals. The little boy inside of me who used to act like Ace Ventura just to get his classmates to laugh has been reborn. Sadly, my pessimism is still strong -- that's why I'm always shocked when people actually include me on their lists or vote for me for Best New MoFo -- but no matter how much ***** life may throw at me in the future, I feel like I'll be okay as long as I have you guys. And that's an amazing feeling.

Reading everyone's comments during this countdown has confirmed for me what I already knew: This is not a forum, but a family.

So from the bottom of my heart, not as Captain Spaulding, but as Forrest (my real name), I want to express my gratitude to every member here. I don't care whether you voted for me or not. That's not what this is about. I just want to thank all of you for simply being you. For being awesome and friendly and warm and caring and for making this place my second home. I love personal write-ups Captain. Thanks for sharing. I have similar sentiments about the community. After my divorce I was looking for something that was a bit of a diversion when my kids weren't around. I don't do bars and it is hard to find people around here with the same interests as me. I love movies so looked for a forum. I had never joined one before and started slow but pretty quickly it became about more then movie lists, although that is still a lot of fun. I know you can't really call people here friends in the true sense, but I want to see what people are up to here way more then I do my facebook that is full of people I have known my whole life.
