/\ that was good too.. I liked the way each brother was associated with one of the seven deadly sins... Youngest one was gluttony, the other was speed & the other one sportsmanship or something, I think!
& don't forget themes of interracial infatuation.. & how bad guy's bad guy turns against him.

Well, I have a good idea of the numerous types of stats I want to post but I want to make sure I don't leave anything off that you all will want to see...
So what I'm saying is request what sort of stats or info you want. ????
I'd like to see director appearences on the list. It would be nice to see which directors are really well represented on the MoFo top 100.

I was just thinking, maybe actors/actresses that appear the most. The top 5 of each or something would be an interesting stat.

Not that it matters quite as much as it used to, but how about appearances by The studios?
Also the 10 that were just outside the top 100 might be interesting.

Sorry, but appearances by the studios is pretty pointless in my opinion and I'm not sure anybody would care all that much about it. Just doesn't seem all that interesting.
However, I will gladly put the ten movies that just barely missed the cut. :yup:

I have seen 85 of the movies.
Only plan to watch few of the remaining 15.
Especially these:
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Sonatine
Withnail & I
In the Mood for Love
As of now, the rest aren't a priority. But I am hoping to see them in the near future.
If MoFos have them as favorites, it's definitely worth watch watching.

Going back and rereading this list, I really think it's a travesty that only one animated film made this list. I haven't seen it, but I plan to pretty soon. But man, nobody is going to convince me that Spirited Away is the best animated film of all time. Or, even the most popular, I think it just happened to pick up more than one vote and that was just enough to get it on this list.
Huh; I hadn't noticed that. That's pretty weird.

Maybe so. But hang on, you don't have any animated films in your top ten - which (if any) would be in your top 25 (and therefore list eligible)?
Spirited Away was the only animated movie I had in my top 25 (I think, can't quite remember if Nightmare Before Christmas made the cut)
I haven't seen it, but I plan to pretty soon. But man, nobody is going to convince me that Spirited Away is the best animated film of all time.
Watch it before you decide that, Miyazaki might convince you ;)
Or, even the most popular, I think it just happened to pick up more than one vote and that was just enough to get it on this list.
Very true. But then again, that's true of a lot of the films on this list, especially in the lower half.
Personally I was a bit disappointed not to see more foreign-language films in the list...
Only animated film to make my Top 100 List was Beauty and the Beast.

@Thursday.
I've only got one in my top 100 and that's The Incredibles. It isn't in my top 25 though so yeah... If I ever redo mine I could see Wall*E making it pretty high up there next time around. I love that film dearly. I don't doubt that Spirited Away is good I'm just surprised, more than anything that there wasn't a single Pixar or Disney film. Pretty surprising to be honest. And yeah, as a person that has two really excellent foreign films in his top ten, I was also surprised at the lack of foreign films.

In a weird sense, Clint Eastwood was a part of 4 movies in the MOFO Top 100. He acted in Unforgiven, Million Dollar Baby and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. He also directed Mystic River (as well as the previously mentioned Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby).

Ehh, I know it's only mid April, but when can you start sending in your Top 100 list for the 2011 MoFo Top 100? I'm asking, because I'll actually send in a list this time. Will the countdown start late July - early August again or...?
I will send in a top 30 only. Ive tried top 100 film lists but i was never satisfied with them.
You only send in a Top 25, but I don't think there is any scheduled redo planned as of yet.
Great list and great thread. Since arriving here I've been reading a few pages at a time and just got through it. I was particularly entertained by the fact that after every reveal it sparked a big arguement and a back and forth of "Too high!" and "Too low." :D
I've only seen just over half of the films on the list (still lots to catch up on!), and have another 20-25 available to watch either on DVD or recorded from TV so will hopefully get a lot more seen soon
Have begun very early work on a top 100 list, not sure if I'll be ready to submit a top 25 for the next list or not. Would like to see a lot more 'classic' films first
Just out of interest has there ever been any talk of having something like a veto vote? As well as your 25 top movies you can choose a movie or two you don't like and they lose a couple of points or 5 points from their score.
Perhaps it doesn't represent the celebration and love of film this list appears to be but could be fun.

I am in the process of extending my list to 75 movies. Looking back at my old list, which i made a year ago, i realised my movie taste has changed quite a lot. For instance, the new list has fewer 'classic hollywood' movies and more foreign ones.

I really should make a new one, in just a few months the bottom 15 of my old one has basically dropped off and a lot of films have moved down in favor of ones that i've seen recently. I think i'll wanna rewatch the top 5 or so first, though.

Some thoughts....
The top 10 was mind blowing....The Departed? Not even Marty's best movie. Grossly overrated. The Big Lewbowski? Funny, but top 10?
Where is "No Country For Old Men"? A million times better then The Departed and had my favorite villain of all time.
I'm new here so I'll be sure to do a list if you roll this out again.
It was also interesting that not too many comedies made the top 100.

Yeah, The Departed is a good yarn, but to finish above the likes of Goodfellas, Unforgiven, Matrix, Blade Runner, Godfather 2 and Shawshank Redemption is just meh!

See, I found No Country to be vastly overrated. I hated it actually. I honestly couldn't care less what happened to a single one of those characters and I still don't know how I managed to even get through the entire thing. Whereas I think The Departed earned its praise. I went into it expecting to hate it (a mob movie starring a Baldwin, Marky Mark and Matt Damon? No thanks!) but came out absolutely loving it.
And Lebowski? Best comedy ever made, IMO.

The Departed is a great movie, and I love it, but I was also pretty shocked it made the top ten. If it made the top ten here, I have a feeling it will make the top 5 for the next top 100.

Well I think the thing is that it was in a lot of people's 25, not necessarily that it was that high up on a lot of people's lists

Maybe because it was new around the time of voting and people rated it higher than it should be. Probably drop down the rankings into the 30-40s next time around.

GASP. There's not ONE post in here from me (except this) and I DIDN'T EVEN SEND IN A LIST FOR THIS.
We definitely need to redo this list ASAP.
