Top 50 Tearjerkers

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
First off, I don't understand why Being There is considered a "tearjerker".

Secondly, Peter Sellers was in the original The Ladykillers, The Mouse That Roared, I'm All Right Jack, The Battle of the Sexes, Two Way Stretch, Only Two Can Play, The Wrong Arm of the Law, Heavens Above!, The World of Henry Orient, The Wrong Box and Murder by Death. I obviously omitted some films which others know and love to address you specifically, honey.

OK, I've seen The Ladykillers, The Mouse That Roared and I'm All Right Jack. The Lady Killers was ok, but I lost interest long before the end. Didn't like either of the other two. I don't like any of The Pink Panther films either (sorry Tramp.) Then there's Dr. Strangelove. Less said the better, I think.

I'm just looking at his IMDB page and it's not getting any better I'm afraid. Down Among The Z Men (never a fan of The Goons), What's New Pussycat?, Casino Royale, The Party, There's A Girl In My Soup. Yep, Being There seems to be the only film of his I like, thus far.

okay

i cried at the end of Buffy The Vampire Slayer

"Pieces of April"
"Terms of Endearment"
"Life is Beautiful"

I cry alot at alot of movies, some are tears of joy others are heartache, but the one film that no matter what always makes me cry is the 1994 version of Little Women...when Claire Danes character "Beth" passes away. I have no idea why this scene affects me so, it just kills me every time tho.

Kenny, don't paint your sister.
the end of trains planes and automobiles gets me everytime
I wasn't aware that Planes, Trains, and Automobiles fell into the tearjerker category. Unless you laughed so hard that you cried.

Surprised that only one poster mentioned Lynch`s "The elephant man", even more surprised that no one mentioned "The English patient" (or I did not see it), shed tears the most for those two and Bergman`s "Funny and Alexander". "Breaking the waves" is also a major tearjerker for me...

Definitely Titanic

These one's on vintempe's list had the same effect on me:

#15 The Color Purple - Steven Spielberg couldnt have told a better story, with such pain and sorrow, but in the end, very rewarding with an overflow of happy tears. I will forever have tears of joy for Whoopi Goldberg reuniting with her children.

#16 What Dreams May Come - Robin Williams plays a doctor who dies and goes to Heaven, but then has to rescue his wife from Hell after she commits suicide because of his death. The purple tree scene will bring out the tears.

#29 Steel Magnolias - Who could ever top the performance that Sally Fields gave at that funeral. I cried as if Julia Roberts was my own dead daughter!!!..........

#36 Baby Boom - Great story about a business woman who is appointed as caregiver to her orphaned baby niece. The ending really choked the tears out of me as Diane Keaton walks through the front door and the baby calls her "Mama."

And also for me, the one's that make me cry every time are:

City of Angels- When Maggie dies and Peter Gabriel's song "i grieve" is playing, and then how it shows him after her death and how he copes with the loss, then the ending scene when he can finally feel what it's like to swim in the ocean.

E.T.- when Elliot and E.T. get sick and then E.T. dies. Then at the end when Elliot has to say good-bye to E.T. And i loved the music.

Making a difference
I love tear jerkers. the ones I've loved the most are;

Blood diamonds
Titanic
Gladiator
Braveheart
A walk to remember
Pearl harbour
Hotel Rwanda
