Gritty superhero cinema isnt exactly out of the ordinary these days, what, with Nolans The Dark Knight trilogy (which I enjoyed a lot), but, as a consequence of Nolans films, I feel a lot of films havent been able to capture what The Crow does.

Her voice-over which both opens and closes the film talks of preserving the memories of those that you have loved and lost, and was added after Lee's death in a bid to soften the film.

The comicbook feel has translated from book to film wonderfully and Brandon Lee, sadly or gladly depending on how you look at it, made his name with this film.
