So yeah, whereas the previous movie covers the whole day, Halloween 2 covers the rest of the night where Myers continues his murderous rampage and finds Laurie Strode in the hospital.

What he finds out is that Myers is, of course, headed to the hospital determined to kill Laurie, who we learn here is his sister.
