When timid bank clerk Stanley Ipkiss discovers a magical mask containing the spirit of the Norse god Loki, his entire life changes. While wearing the mask, Ipkiss becomes a supernatural playboy exuding charm and confidence which allows him to catch the eye of local nightclub singer Tina Carlyle. Unfortunately, under the mask's influence, Ipkiss also robs a bank, which angers junior crime lord Dorian Tyrell, whose goons get blamed for the heist.

Citizen Rules
Jim Carrey was at his comedic height here and the wildly over the top Mask character gave Carrey a chance to showcase his physical style of comedy, the man has a rubber face.

The nightclub "Coco Bongo", where Jim Carrey goes in this movie and "The Majestic", is also the name of Jim Carrey's nightclub in Cancun, Mexico.

After his first two episodes wearing the mask, Stanley decides to seek advice from a writer (Ben Stein), who has just written a book about masks and when he offers to demonstrate what the mask does, this is the one point in the whole story where the mask doesn't work, even though three different cha....
