Retired cop James Lasombra is asked by a friend to investigate the disappearance of her daughter, who seemingly packed in the night and left an ominous message on the bathroom mirror - "The Empty Man Made Me Do It." As he investigates this mysterious figure further, James begins to see and hear strange things, and is forced to come to terms with his past and what it means for his future.

Like Prisoners or movies where David Fincher does what he does best, it's a horror movie that starts with a seemingly simple missing person case and then takes us down one gloriously dark and strange rabbit hole.
Thief
The Empty Man follows James Lasombra (James Badge Dale) a former detective-turned-security salesman that is still reeling in from the death of his wife and son a year earlier.
