A father and daughter live a perfect but mysterious existence in Forest Park, a beautiful nature reserve near Portland, Oregon, rarely making contact with the world. The two of them cultivate an excellent dynamic of a family unit with some "us against the world" instincts, but at the same time a dynamic in which Tom is beginning to have a more autonomous view of how she wants to live her life.

Living outside is all Tom (his daughter) has really ever known, so we also see how she adjusts and what she thinks about the average way of living in the U.S.
