This is not only a terrific action film, but it's a super romance, incredibly funny, a wonderful family film (in at least two senses of the word "family"), an interesting historical film (even though much of the history is malarkey), and just a super example of how some '40s films are pace....

Ward Bond almost always gives a heart felt performance, as he does here at the party scene when he gives Jim a gift, thus teaching Gentleman Jim a lesson in humility...a touching scene and my favorite.
