One that Altman doesn't give us all the pieces for, just like he doesn't give them to Cathryn, or any other character.

All up, with this film's score, cinematography by Zsigmond, sound, acting from York and direction from Altman you get a first-rate, psychologically-pounding film which seeps with tension-filled disorientation.
