(Ironically, one of the first films to kick off the New Hollywood was Bonnie and Clyde, which Beatty produced and starred in.) Alas, the massive critical and financial failure of several ambitious, big-budget films, most notably Michael Ciminos notorious 1980 flop Heavens Gate, signaled the twilight....
