Based on the best-selling Mississippi memoir by the late Willie Morris.

I was never entirely satisfied with how Willie's father was handled as a character---from his reluctance to let Willie have a dog to finally feeling like he is a young man.
Thief
My Dog Skip follows such a friendship between lonely outcast Willie Morris (Frankie Muniz) and Skip, the friendly Terrier that his mother gives him for his birthday.
