Her reluctant husband and their three daughters make doomed efforts to cope with Eve's demands, while also trying to get on with their own lives. Woody Allen found himself nominated for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay at the 1979 Oscars for Interiors (he'd won a Best Director Oscar and Best Original Screenplay the previous year for Annie Hall.) It's interesting to note that Allen's primary influence for this film was Ingmar Bergman....

Allen's genius as a director is evident in every frame...one of the most startling directorial touches I noticed here was that with the exception of a single party scene where characters are dancing with each other, the film has no music score at all...the power of the storytelling here drives the f....
