Betrayed by an informant, Philippe Gerbier finds himself trapped in a torturous Nazi prison camp. Though Gerbier escapes to rejoin the Resistance in occupied Marseilles, France, and exacts his revenge on the informant, he must continue a quiet, seemingly endless battle against the Nazis in an atmosphere of tension, paranoia and distrust.

But the film is much more eventful then other films a non art house guy would expect from an artsy French movie.

The look of the film is just plain gorgeous, that kind of grayish blue filter over everything that kind of parallels the constant tension in the film which makes the time period of the film seem longer time wise then it really is, the film basically takes place during that single metaphorical season....
