"Being Julia" :- Annete Bening´s performance in this film is superb ! ... To me,Bening deserves to get the "Best Actress" Oscar this year.

"The Aviator" ( It will get the "Best Picture" Oscar ),"Finding Neverland" ( It will get the "Best Adapted Screenplay" Academy Award ),"Million Dollar Baby","Ray" and "Sideways",will be the 5 nominees this year for the Best Picture Academy Award.

Yes,personally i also hope that those 5 great actors and those 5 great performances will get the nominations.But,maybe instead of Jim Carrey and/or Paul Giamatti will appear instead on the nominations list Kevin Kline for "De-Lovely",and Kevin Spacey for "Beyond the Sea".In both cases the nominations will be really excellent,of course.

Personally,i hope that the "Best Actor" Oscar this year would go to Johnny Depp for his brilliant,sexy,romantic,funny,witty performance in "Finding Neverland" .

I just think Finding neverland was not a powerfull or memorable performance. he should have won for Pirates.

Sometimes the apparently more subtles performances are more powerful than some others...

I understand that but it was not even a memorable subtle performance. Jim carrey I feel had a memorable subtle performance in Eternal Sunshine

These are always harder to pick than the Oscars themselves. Once you know the five from each category, there are rarely any big upsets. But trying to figure what'll make the cut in the first place is often just a wild guessing game after two or three in each category that are more or less forgone conclusions. But my guesses for the big eight categories...
