Becoming An Actor

I know that this question is going to be difficult for most people to answer but if i am going to ask it, it might as well be here.

I want to be an actor more than anything. What is the best way to become one?

I was born and raised in souther california haha and just spent most of my youth in hollywood i went through an acting phase and what not..but yea ill try to help you out. i go to school now with a lot of future actors (NYU) so i can give you a few perspectives

EDIT: To expand upon that, do you have at least a slight degree of comprehension as to why you would like to be an actor?

The cliche 'Do you have experience?' question is actually pretty relevant, you can learn to do a scene from any old acting coach, but until you have experience you can't feel the scene.

I'd say get involved in your school, college or community theater. Excellant way to learn the ropes as far as what's expected of you, you'll be able to gain advice from other actors and it's fun. Great way also to learn 'techie' stuff, such as crewing and lighting along with the many other things that go on back-stage.

I wouldn't know, I've never tried...but I do know that there are places in Sacramento that will pay you handsomely to "act" in gay video porn...no experience needed.

if you see an open audition somewhere, go for it...you never know..

try taking up some acting classes...see what happens from there...

1. First, think to yourself. WHY DO YOU WANT TO BECOME AN ACTOR? TO BECOME FAMOUS AND WELL-KNOWN? BECAUSE IT IS YOUR PASSION? I SUGGEST THE SECOND CHOICE......IF YOU WANT TO ACT JUST TO BECOME FAMOUS, THEN DONT BOTHER BECAUSE YOUR EGO WILL TAKE OVER YOU AND YOU WILL DROP IN A DITCH WITH NOTHING.
2. Secondly, go around your community, and get INVOLVED(such as school, theater group, maybe some LOCAL auditions, etc.)

3. If you get a role in an audition, then really really practice your role. BE the character. After that, you should go to an acting class. From there, the school or teacher will tell you what to do.
