What are the best Mikio Naruse films?

I've seen one When a Woman Ascends the Stairs, he'd be the 4th in the upper echelon of classic Japanese directors, so i'm still not decided to forsake the Criterion Channel, it is however a struggle for me to make real use of it.

It'd be easier to say which ones aren't.

Sound of the Mountain is his best I think.
