Movie or tv scene where farmhouse attacked by team of hired guns

I’ve joined this forum as this has been bugging me for weeks!

What I recall is it’s the main character in the movie or tv series episode, think he goes back to a place from his past, it’s possibly his sisters house and I think she looks after orphans or troubled kids (thinking now maybe he was looked after at this place?) it’s in middle of nowhere, he goes to the local pub first and hides out, in the next scene you see the team of hired killers in same pub, they kill the landlord to find out where the main character has gone then you see them ready to attack the farmhouse - they are non english speaking I think?

The character survives this, some of the kids die and I think the lady who has the house. I keep thinking it’s ‘shooter’ or something similar but it’s really bugging me apologies if the description is terrible!

It's been a while since I saw it, but this sounds like it has some similarities to the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009).

1) If I remember correctly, Logan goes to live with his girlfriend in a remote location, and she's a schoolteacher, or something with kids.

2) Later, Logan goes to a local bar, and has a fight with his mutant brother, Victor, who killed his girlfriend.

3) Then, (after some other scenes), Logan goes on the run, and he's taken in by an elderly couple, at their farmhouse, and the couple are both killed when he's attacked at their farmhouse.
