Oh, damn. He's been my favorite musician since I was a kid. 1989's Full Moon Fever was the first album I owned from any artist. I've got all his albums and have seen him in concert multiple times. 66 is far too young.

He died about an hour ago. When I posted my OP, the news was only that he was in cardiac arrest. Next time I came to this thread he had just died.

He was on life support so you were right.

I just read that the LAPD apologizes, and that he's still clinging on to life.... Let's hope.
