Budget in animation movies

i never got it.

how come the budger animation movies reach to 100, sometimes 150 milion dolars?
apart from wages to computer people and voice actor, where they get to waste such amounts?

Marketing maybe?

Not to mention higher profile voice actors (ex. Tim Allen in Toy Story).

that doesnt make any sense.
i mean, think about all that live action movies with probably higher budget to actors, not less of budget to maketing, and of course locations and stuff that actully happen.

i mean, mad max has the same budget as inside out (150M). how is that even possible? in mad max there is tons of cars exploding and **** happens. inside out is all in the camputer.

This honestly is a great question. I don't know either and was wondering quite a bit about it.

one speculation of mine is that a good animated (as cgi aswell) visuals cost more money somehow ..but I don't see how ..
I mean, it's all in a computer program, isnt it?
