I love watching actors in a scene where they must pretend somehow in extremely dangerous and stressful situations. For example, Ed Exley fighting to not betray emotion when Dudley Smith mentions Rollo Tomassi in L.A. Confidential, or the Farmhouse/Bar scenes from Inglorious Basterds (below). Aside from Tarantino, anyone know of movies with really good tense scenes like this?
Scenes where a character is playing a dangerous charade?
Casino Royale has quite a few scenes like this with the poker game and the torture scene.
Not a movie but a trashy TV series; Sins has a tense moment where a brother has to watch his sister gets tortured but cannot reveal that they are brother and sister.
