Looking for a film about people on a tropical island?

OK so this movie is probably from the early 90's. I remember seeing the trailer when I was a kid. There were priates involved some young people in there teens. they set up booby traps on an island to stop the pirates. theres a scene where they swing across a pit on a ships wheel on a rope. I remember the trailer ending with a girl or boy sihouetted on a beach and shouting while raising a sword into the air. I'd appreciate any help. SERIOUSLY CANNOT REMEMBER THIS MOVIE TITLE.
