Help - title of disaster movie from 70s or 80s

This is my first post on this most greatest of forums!

I watched this movie on tv when I was a kid, I was 10-14 years old I think (I'm 32 now). So I think the movie has to be from the 80s or older, maybe just maybe from the very early 90s.

I can't really remember much, except in the end there was a long sequence with silence, camera zooming in on a lot of dead people - in what seemed to be a factory, power plant, or some scientific experiment sort of place. The location was far away from civilization, in sort of an arid area.

I'm not sure why the people were dead, but I do think most certainly some sort of scientific experiment gone wrong, some sort of malfunction in the factory - like a chemical leak, a virus being spread, or a nuclear accident - something like that. No monsters, aliens, animals or murderers.

I've seen a couple of movies now as of late, because I was looking for this one. Like Warning Sign and The China Syndrome - I found them on wikipedia's list of disaster films, the list there seems to be overpopulated with movies from the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s, so I think there might be movies missing from earlier times.

I'm sort of a disaster movie fetichist so even if you don't give me the right title I could still get something from it! Any help would be appreciated.

Hi vegardhv. Mark f has already mentioned a very likely film that fits your description, but also one of these three nuclear holocaust movies may be what you remember:
The Day After (1983)
Threads (1984)
On The Beach (1959) Probably too old but there is a modern remake of it.

There is also a couple of other movies about a deadly virus out of control.
One example is, "The Stand" from 1994.

I might have wrongfully ruled out the Andromeda Strain because I saw the series showed earlier on television. But the movie, yeah that might be it. Looking at the first few minutes of the clip it looks familiar. I can also give the other 3 titles a shot after. I'll just mark this as answered for now Thank you very much
