Acronym Identification

Tools

OK, here's a little activity, based on the POTA confusion in another thread. One person at a time submits a movie abbreviated by its initials. For example...

POTA would be Planet of the Apes
LOTR is Lord of the Rings
TGTBATU is short for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

So, going from the initials we try to decipher what movie they're referring to. The first person to correctly identify the acronym posts a new one.

Easy enough, yeah? First one to start it off....

I ain't gettin' in no fryer!
Is there a timeframe in which these movies are based?? Are they older movies, more recent...what?

I wouldn't put a restriction on what time period the movies are from, but for the sake of the prevailing tastes of this board, we'll keep it limited from the 1980s onward. And use your judgement, but these should be only generally well-known films.

Also, the movie titles should be at least three words long. It's no fun trying to guess what in the Hell 'G' is supposed to be abbreviating (Ghost, Gladiator, Grease, Go, GoodFellas, Ghostbusters, Gandhi). Part of that theory is if it's only one or two words, there usually isn't much reason to abbreviate it in the first place.

My SPR falls well within the now-set timeline perameters. I'll even clue you in further and say it's from the '90s.

Got a guess, Spud?

OOOOOOOh...this looks like fun! and a little hard. I'm still thinking on SPR.

Now With Moveable Parts
I keep thinking " South Park..."

SPR is a hugely popular and successful film I can guarantee every single person on this board has heard of, and probably the overwhelming majority have seen.

You guys are gonna be kickin' yourselves.

Drats! OG got it first...I hate editing posts.

Darn you to Heck! I had just figured out Dead Man Walking and knew The Silence of the Lambs, like everybody else apparently.

Mine was going to be TWINE, which OG got below easy.

*BTW, I've further amended the timeline to include only 1980 - today.

Now With Moveable Parts
oh...good call Holden...it's better to narrow it down for this game.
