(26 October 2006) Los Angeles, CA – The Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival jurors awarded the Best New Director trophy Sunday (22) to first-time feature film director Russell P. Marleau for his indie teen comedy The Curiosity of Chance for Bigfoot Entertainment. Written by Marleau himself, the film stars Tad Hilgenbrinck (American Pie Presents: Band Camp), Brett Chukerman (Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds) and Chris Mulkey (North Country). Marleau was among ten other new directors who competed for the award.

The Curiosity of Chance had its first U.S. screening at the fest and played to a sold out audience who cheered and gave the film a standing ovation. Over three-hundred people packed Seattle’s Broadway Performance Hall in the heart of Capitol Hill. Marleau, the cast above and the film’s producer Lisa Schahet entertained the audience with a question and answer session following the film.
