For that action and adventure itch, I'd recommend Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Professionals (1966), The Man Who Would Be King, The Three Musketeers (1974) and The Four Musketeers (1974), Runaway Train, The Bridge On the River Kwai, Léon: The Professional...




For action/comedy, I'd strongly suggest Midnight Run, Beverly Hills Cop, Grosse Pointe Blank, Charade, OSS 117: Cairo Nest of Spies, In Bruges, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland...



Based on your apparent taste in comedies, I'd say The Princess Bride, Airplane!, Top Secret!, Rushmore, After Hours, The Dream Team, Clue, Joe vs. the Volcano, Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, What About Bob?, Quick Change, Trading Places, Raising Arizona...




For some great Sci-Fi and Horror you haven't acquired yet (according to your list), A Boy and His Dog, The Hidden, Time After Time, The Last Starfighter, Time Bandits, The Road Warrior, Near Dark, Rosemary's Baby, The Hitcher (1986), Angel Heart, Jacob's Ladder, Frailty, An American Werewolf in London...




Some crime movies you should have (but don't) would be L.A. Confidential, Chinatown, The Godfather and The Godfather Part II, GoodFellas, Donnie Brasco, The French Connection, Miller's Crossing...

And then just some flat-out classics that should be in everybody's collection, Lawrence of Arabia, Casablanca, North by Northwest (and a whole lot of Hitchcock, which you somehow don't have ANY?!?), The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, Taxi Driver, Brazil, Cool Hand Luke, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and there are an easy hundred foreign language titles you should start investigating.

ok well thanks all for replies some good places to start, as for the comment about foreign films sorry not interested I have seen plenty and they don't do much for me. Of all the sci fi movies to suggest you pick the one movie I despise the most, ick. (enemy mine) but that is ok how did you know.

Mostly I am into comedies and action movies, well also heavy into horror but like I said I left those out cuz I got pretty much everything I need there.

I really dig what i've seen of French Extremism but didn't like Matyrs at all. Have you seen Frontiers, Nausicaa? I'd swap them over or add Irreversible for a different shade.

I have seen Frontier(s), it was okay but not up there for me with the above I mentioned. From what I can remember, I didn't care much for the characters in the film but I did during Martyrs, it stayed with me for a few days feeling angry and sad for the women in the film. Plus Mylène Jampanoï is an actress I like.

well the Hitchcock stuff I have is mostly horror I havent watched them all yet I have a ton on VHS and right now no VCR that plays tapes.

Frontier(s) and Martyrs were excellent.Other films of this genre worth checking out are Sheitan and Calvaire.
