How many criterions do you own?

Going off the top of my head, I can think of 27 from the Criterion collection so far.

How many silent films do you own?

Not many, I can think of about 6.

Biggest box set (in terms of amount of discs)?

For film it's my treasured Ingmar Bergman collection, it has 30 discs:



But the largest in my collection is a television box set of The X-Files, it has 61 discs in the complete collection:

I only have 2 criterions currently, and I'm not a fan of box sets unfortunately. Because for some reason I'd rather have the single discs, so I end up shelling out more than I should have to.

I get them from Netflix, and if I like what I watch I go out and buy them.

6. If you have 20 movies how many are foreign?
I don't like foreign movies, my parents love them and i've sat through several of them, but they are not my cup of tea. I like a few Russian movies, but that is it.



I find it strange for someone who 'doesn't like foreign films', goes on to name that they enjoyed three Russian films(of all the foreign mainstream films out there, you name three Russian films)... what is the difference, why did you like them so much but say foreign films are not your cup of tea?

I can't speak for him but because he is Russian he can most likely understand Russian so for him Russian movies aren't much different than english ones. I think the subtitles is what he doesn't like

If you have 20 movies how many are foreign: Again I haven't counted but just off the top of my head Red Cliff, Crouching Tiger, IP Man, Hero, Girl with the Dragon Tatoo, Let the Right One In, Pan's Labyrinth.

I seriously have no clue since I don't usually buy brand new movies, but I will be getting Cabin In The Woods soon. Maybe if Community season 2 counts?

Probably...Bergman or Kubrick, might be tied.

Yes indeed because I have a pretty trustworthy intuition. Some of my favorite dvds are blind buys.

Estimate: Let's see, criterions, take out the english, somewhere around 120, now including the other foreign films...close to 180 I'm guessing.

It's between my Hiroshi Teshigahara box (Pitfall, Woman in the Dunes, Face of Another) and my Wild China documentary

0... EDIT... 1... Armageddon. But it doesn't really count because it's poop. So, erm, 0.

Biggest box set (in terms of amount of discs)?
Rocky. 6 films, 6 discs.

Favorite DVD (not movie, but the DVD itself)?
Alien 3 Definitive Edition Steel Box, 10 hours of features including both versions of the film.
Next Fave would be Carpenter's The Thing and then the card sleeved Predator, both with tons of features.

How many silent films do you own? About 6 + Almost all of Buster Keaton's.

Biggest box set (in terms of amount of discs)? The World At War (11 Disc). Ah... silly little propaganda seriers but still great Other box sets include documentaries about wildlife & history.

Favorite DVD (not movie, but the DVD itself)? I don't go for extras, special features, director interviews, etc.

Can't you trust your intuition like wintertriangles mentioned? I buy films all the time that I haven't seen and rarely disappointed.

Not very many at all to be perfectly honest. I'd say 10, but couldn't be definitive.

The West Wing box set. 44 discs.

The first to spring to mind is the Blade Runner suitcase that came out a couple years ago. Both in terms of extras and the cases themselves.

Half a dozen or so Laurel and Hardy shorts.
