2024 Independent Spirit Awards

Tools

This year's Spirit Awards will be streaming live on YouTube today beginning at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT

I'll be watching. I've seen 12 of the nominated films. I predict Past Lives will be the biggest winner.
It deserves to be!

It deserves to be!
I thought Past Lives was good, but not great. American Fiction would be my pick out of the nominees for best feature, followed by May December.

I'm just greatly relieved this is one awards show Oppenheimer can't be in!

Glenn Howerton for Blackberry!

Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

It's starting!!

Past Lives gets a very richly-deserved Best Feature award, while Celine Song won an equally richly-deserved Best Director trophy.

For anyone who's interested but didn't get to watch the show, here's the complete list of winners:

Very happy that 'Fremont' got some recognition. That's a lovely little film.

I cannot see what the fuss is over 'American Fiction'. Extremely average film in my opinion. But there we go. Past Lives is great. Although some of these films don't feel like Indie films to be honest, especially the A24 ones like Past Lives with its' $12,000,000 budget.

Film Independent posted up on Santa Monica Beach on Sunday to present its annual Spirit Awards, the biggest party for the independent film scene. While cameras captured the live show for a stream on YouTube, The Hollywood Reporter was inside the iconic white tent on the beach to bring you all the action you might’ve missed.
