2001: A Space Odysey - On my wish list for a long time, glad I finally own it.

North By Northwest - Haven't seen this yet. Since my local Blockbuster only cares for blockbusters, I had to buy it blind.

Monty Python and The Holy Grail - Really like this DVD, good extras. It even comes with the script and a film cell.

"Director's Series, Vol. 1 - The Work of Director Spike Jonze"
"Director's Series, Vol. 3 - The Work of Director Michel Gondry"

Three excellent films, and i think you will enjoy North by Northwest.

The Scorsese Collection arrived.

As did Fellini's La Strada.

Do you have the Chris Cunningham one as well?
I ask because i have been following those three volumes very closely since they've been in Aust. and waiting for them to come to a reasonable price. What's your opinion on them? I mean, which one would you say is the best? I understand the Cunningham would be the best value for money but i very much like Spike Jonze and what he's done in the world of video clips.

I've heard a number of interesting things about Shaun, but wasn't able to see it at the local horror/fantasy film festival here on the Gold Coast [I was too busy at the international one in Brisbane].

Did you buy it blind, Holden, or had you seen it already? If you had, how's about a short review?

I had seen it down at Comic-Con in July.

It's very funny, but also quite bloody and a pretty good zombie movie if you were to take away the comedy. But you wouldn't want to - it's fun as Hell exactly as is.

Brits or others who knew Egar Wright and Simon Pegg from the TV series "Spaced" probably weren't at all surprised by how funny Shaun of the Dead is. The same character-driven humor mixed in with pop-culture references is on display here, only all the pop-culture has been distilled into one target of the zombie flick...which it is quite clear they truly love. And as an audience if you too love zombie movies, you'll love Shaun. But even if you are only slightly familiar with 'em or have never really even seen one you'll still find so much to enjoy. It's smart, silly, gory, fun stuff. Bring the whole family!
