Songs With Matt
The Doors

I listen to this probably once a month to hear a language I recognize. I wish Jim did more of this, just not so drunk. People need to be shook up once in a while simply to evaluate and ask themselves the questions that are avoided for a cozy position picking up your boss' dog turds.

Pink Floyd - The Fletcher Memorial Home
Take all your overgrown infants away somewhere
And build them a home, a little place of their own.
The Fletcher Memorial
Home for Incurable Tyrants and Kings.
And they can appear to themselves every day
On closed circuit T.V.
To make sure they're still real.
It's the only connection they feel.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, Reagan and Haig,
Mr. Begin and friend, Mrs. Thatcher, and Paisly,
"Hello Maggie!"
Mr. Brezhnev and party.
"Scusi dov'è il bar?"
The ghost of McCarthy,
The memories of Nixon.
"Who's the bald chap?"
"Good-bye!"
And now, adding colour, a group of anonymous latin-
American meat packing glitterati.
Did they expect us to treat them with any respect?
They can polish their medals and sharpen their
Smiles, and amuse themselves playing games for awhile.
Boom boom, bang bang, lie down you're dead.
Safe in the permanent gaze of a cold glass eye
With their favorite toys
They'll be good girls and boys
In the Fletcher Memorial Home for colonial
Wasters of life and limb.
Is everyone in?
Are you having a nice time?
Now the final solution can be applied.

Elvis - Unchained Melody
I see a few other versions right before his death... The fact he never did it in the studio is a tragic loss for music. Sounds like there was a good chance he would have recorded it.

The song I've known from them since I was a kid was not one I ever liked, so I never checked them out, but a chat friend of mine posted a song title (only because it was relevant to the conversation) but because he has good taste in music, I thought I'd check it out, and it's a really cool song! I've listened to it quite a lot. Not many hard rock songs with a tambourine throughout the song.. But I think I like it because it's in a minor chord. I think the second chord change is another minor, but then it reverts to the first chord (Am?).. The drums don't change, and the song is very simple, but it's definitely an exception to my rule.
