i would go with lord of the rings

Don't torture yourself, Gomez. That's my job.
Others I like have already been mentioned, so I'll go with these peeps. Now I know it's a chick flick, but hey, I'm a chick!

Practical Magic (1998)

I love all six witches for different reasons (and one of them has my real name *grin*).

This movie cures my grumps every time.

With the end of Harry Potter fast approaching, I thought I would pay tribute to the witches and wizards of the cinema! Who are your favorites?

I'll start...

Wizard: Gandalf the Grey, "Lord of The Rings"
Witch: Queen Bavmorda, "Willow"
Jean Marsh was great as Bavmorda — what a monster. Marsh virtually reprised the character in the Doctor Who story Battlefield, although Morgaine has some redeeming qualities .

My favourite wizard, hands down, is Nicol Williamson as Merlin in Excalibur. He was so surprising when I saw the film because he doesn't conform to the standard Merlin in any other version of the story. The helmet, the bizarre cadences. Fantastic performance, where he's pretty much playing an alien, an interloper between realities.

I have a soft spot for Angelica Huston in The Witches actually. Not a perfect version of the story by any means but she was brilliant in it.

Jadis The White Witch (Tilda Swinton) - The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe

Koura (Tom Baker) - The Golden Voyage of Sinbad
Both spectacular. I thought Tilda Swinton was exactly right for the part.

Harry Potter and Professor Dumbledore.
