I don't know what's coming out when (i.e. some of these I don't know if they're coming out this summer or even this year), and I don't tend to watch movies in theaters, but I think it's (no strong order)

Half a list I know but what is one to do?

If there was a "Top streaming series you are looking forward to this summer" I could at least add Season 3 of The Boys and whenever Season 4 of Doom Patrol comes out.

2022 looks to have rather lean offerings all things being equal (with the last of the Pre-Covid movies being released, we’re finally starting to see how the pandemic’s disrupted film production more generally). Still, with offerings coming out from Jordan Peele, George Miller, David Chronenberg, Sam Raimi, Taika Waititi and Alex Garland, it’s not like I’m completely bereft of options to choose from. The only really shaky entry here is the new Top Gun (it’s a latter-day nostalgic sequel of a “style over substance” blockbuster that I’ve always been pretty neutral on), but word is that it’s supposed to be pretty thrilling, so I’m at least somewhat intrigued.
