Some of the films posted here, have not been written as novels/books. If I had to post any movie, I would say "The Lord Of the Rings". But I felt they left to much out of the movie that took part in the novel... they could of shown the directors cut in theaters and left the "full" size film for the videos/dvds. Still... LOTR+ were great films.

1. The Shawshank Redemption
3. LOTR Trilogy
4. L.A Confidential
5. Gods and Monsters
6. Wizard of Oz
7. Stand By Me
8. High Fidelity
9. To Have and Have Not
10. Forrest Gump

RIP www.moviejustice.com 2002-2010
My two favorites are

Gone With the Wind
Breakfast at Tiffany's

There's lots of other ones I imagine are quite good, and are wonderful films and books. But those are the only two great ones I can think of that I've both seen the movie and read the book.

Eating you Since 1984
What about 'Jurassic Park'? It's a classic.

The Bridges of Madison County : I loved the book by Robert James Waller.Clint Eastwood did a good job with the movie.
Kramer vs. Kramer : Both were good though I liked the movie more than the book.
The Firm : The John Grisham novel was pretty good though the Tom Cruise movie was somewhat disappointing.

1. The Shawshank Redemption - Stephen King
2. The Shining - Stephen King
3. The Lord of the Rings - J.R.R Tolkien
4. A Clockwork Orange - Anthony Burgess
5. One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest - Ken Kesey

Honorable mentions

1984 - George Orwell
The Green Mile - Stephen King
2001: A Space Odyssey - Arthur C. Clarke
Total Recall - Philip K. Dick
Starship Troopers - Robert Heinlein
Minority Report - Philip K. Dick
The Mist - Stephen King
American Psycho - Bret Easton Ellis

Films adapted from books? There are no Bret Easton Ellis books listed here.

I do enjoy classics to film such as

"Jane Eyre"

Just to name a few.

Sorry if I'm rude but I'm right

And in a very interesting way. It's cool to see how Tarr's long takes reflect Kraznahorkai's improbably long sentences and 30 page long paragraphs.
