Or are the only movies being made today adaptations, sequels, & parodies? I'm not saying that all of these are bad, there just seems to be a lack of good, original work out there. Sorry if this is in the wrong place, just had to get it off my chest.

I think there is a slight lack of good original work but its still definatly going on.

Look at films like, Donnie Darko, Magnolia and Moulin Rouge, I dont think any of those were adapted, correct me if im wrong but i would say theyre pretty original and still very good.
