Depends on your take on the Bond franchise. Is it supposed to be more fun or more serious. You have Moore on one end and Craig on the other with Dalton, Connery and Lazenby sitting somewhere in the middle. I like Dalton personally.
James Bond: Old vs. New
I'd agree with FRWL, but ya The Man With The Golden Gun should be remade, it was a great movie in its first making, I don't see how they could make a bad movie if they just use the first one as a diagram more or less.

Daniel Craig disappoints,as do his movies. Since Cubby Broccoli's death, the name James Bond no longer guarantees great entertainment.

Connery is easily the best in my opinion and Craig the worst.

Love all the Bond actors (Dalton especially) and each actor seemed like the right Bond for the time. The Bond films have always offered great re-watch value, although DIE ANOTHER DAY can be a real challenge to stick with all the way through...

I don't really know how anyone can say that Craig's Bond is the worst of all time. You sure you're not just biased towards the oldies there, buddy?
Recent films and Craig's performances portray Bond more like a brutal action hero, instead of the charming, classy, playful and yet reliable secret agent he once was.
I personally think that's a pity, but many people seem to like it.

I have to say that Daniel Craig is the best James Bond and that Casino Royale is the best Bond movie ever. Years ago, my first Bond memories were with Roger Moore with Live and Let Die.

I think Daniel Craig is the best Bond since Connery, but as for the films themselves, there's nothing like the classics like GOLDFINGER, FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, and YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE.

I'm just going to rank them all to show what I think about the whole franchise.
1. Dr. No (1962) - SEAN CONNERY
2. Goldfinger (1964)
3. The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) - ROGER MOORE
4. From Russia with Love (1963)
5. License to Kill (1989) - TIMOTHY DALTON
6. You Only Live Twice (1967)
7. GoldenEye (1995) - PIERCE BROSNAN
8. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) - GEORGE LAZENBY
9. A View to a Kill (1985)
10. The Man with the Golden Gun (1974)
11. The Living Daylights (1987)
12. Casino Royale (2006) - DANIEL CRAIG
13. The World is Not Enough (1999)
14. Skyfall (2012)
15. For Your Eyes Only (1981)
16. Thunderball (1965)
17. Diamonds Are Forever (1971)
18. Never Say Never Again (1983)
19. Live and Let Die (1973)
20. Octopussy (1983)
21. Moonraker (1979)
22. Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)
23. Die Another Day (2002)
24. The Quantum of Solace (2008)
It's a sort of mix between what I genuinly think are 'objectively' the best films and from what I personally like/love more.
For instance, I know that The Man With the Golden Gun is not as good a film as Skyfall, but I just liked it a lot more.
On the other side I also enjoyed Diamonds Are Forever a little more than Skyfall, but the difference of enjoyment was not as high as the difference in 'objective quality'.

I don't really have a preference between old and new. There are good and bad Bond films in every decade.
I think A View to a Kill was certainly the borderline between the old and new Bond films. The first half of the film had mostly spy elements and the second half of the film had a lot of action elements (and some darker scenes).
