SpelingError's Top 100 Favorite Short Films

I'm saying one of the shorts I hope to see in your list's final 13 films is very similar to Apaches (1977).

I was going to wait and see if it appeared or not, but I can just say it if you like.
I'm cool with waiting, though I don't think any other films like Apaches will make the list.

Gotcha. Given that there are 16 films I'd like to see here, and only 13 spots left, I'd say I'm in for some disappointment. 😅

I'm going to tip my hand/list and hope Meshes of the Afternoon is in there. One of my absolute favorites, that was incredibly far ahead of its time.

Pas De Deux (1968, Norman McLaren)

That was stunning! I normally prefer shorts with plot, but that was so beautiful I had to watch it twice in a row. Thank you for sharing it!

I had a feeling you'd be more into that one. Glad you enjoyed it!

The trick is not minding
Tales of Tales, since Hedgehog in the Fog already made it.
La Jetee.
Meshes of course.
More Brakhage.
Something from the Quay Brothers, perhaps? Maybe Street of Crocodiles.
Maybe Harpya.

I didn't think of the Quay brothers. Excellent choice.

La Jetée (1962, Chris Marker)

Makes me want to watch 12 Monkeys again.
