We've gone on holiday by mistake
Elephant Man (1980) always brings me joy when I'm sad

I think I'd be in bits . Possibly also because it's John Hurt – poor old John.

Seriously speaking, I used to watch an episode or two of FRIENDS whenever I felt down. It ALWAYS worked.

Movie wise, maybe something like The LEGO Batman Movie or The LEGO Movie might do.

I did that too . I was watching two episodes every night a few years ago and it helped me no end.

My Cousin Vinny, Midnight Run, The 'Burbs.

More than anything Arrested Development though.
The 'Burbs rules.

I just could not get into that show.

It's Wonderful Life. Any comedy with Ben Stiller.

Movies? Do we need 'em? NO!

Yeah, it's not for everyone. How much did you try out of interest?
Could not get through the pilot. Thought it was horrible.

The Pilot is probably the worst episode in the whole show. It takes four or five episodes to get going properly.

Might just not be for you though.

I happen to be watching My Cousin Vinny tonight!

Love it so much. It's not that it's the funniest film for me, it's just the whole mood of it, probably my favourite comedy.

I don't actually wear pants.
When I'm down, I avoid comedies. Not necessarily fluffy films, but something that's a straight-up comedy, unless it's Monty Python. They cheer me up. I also watch sad movies, because I feel better about my situation when they end, though the fluffy films work better because they're entertaining without setting myself up for a big drop-off of emotion.

So, if I'm down, I'll watch...
The Good, the Bad, the Weird
Human Condition trilogy
Sleuth (1972)
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Hunt for Red October
No Country for Old Men
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Suspicion
Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope
Big Short
Ikiru

I watched three other episodes of that show, and I wanted to go into a coma.
