Back on the John Carter, Warlord of Mars subject: Marvel just announced a new all-ages adaptation of A Princess of Mars beginning in September. Marvel's will be licensed by the Burroughs Estate, making it "official," as opposed to Dynamite's "unofficial," mature audience adaptations.

Has anyone read the "Firefly" comic book Serenity: Those Left Behind? I've nearly finished watching the series, then plan on watching the film, and I believe this comic book takes place between the two. Would anyone recommend it? I'm not sure if I should hold off watching the film until I've read the comic.

I ended up reading Serenity: Those Left Behind before I watched the film. It wasn't essential to Serenity's story but was a good read. Felt like another episode of "Firefly".

I've just finished reading Millar & McNiven's Nemesis. Was OK, I guess. Got better towards the end. I hear Tony Scott has signed on to direct the film.

Don't torture yourself, Gomez. That's my job.
My favourite is

I Feel Sick by Jhonen Vasquez (A two book series)

and

the Lenore (The Cutest Little Dead Girl) series by Roman Dirge

and last but not least the

Hack/Slash Series

Watchmen is essential reading. Told with complexity, brutality and power, it's not only my favourite graphic novel, but my favourite novel, period.
