What's wrong with the title?

All i know is, if Croatia don't qualify Adi, you can always support Spurs in the meanwhile. We've got Modric, plus two of your pretty boys

I am having a nervous breakdance
We're playing Denmark away this saturday. If we can beat them I would say that our participation in South Africa is pretty much in the bag. If we lose, we're out. A tie, and anything can happen.

Sweden has been terrible in this qualification. We've shaped up recently though and against Hungary we were actually really, really good - only to play with our arses against Malta, just getting away with 0-1.

It's sad really... We have incredible up and comers - I think the under 21 European Championships proved that - but we have a coach that stubbornly refuses to phase them into the national squad. It's not until the end of the qualification that he's really allowed some of these young guns to get into the fire.

To me it's always better to fail to qualify to one big championship because the young players are new and hungry but lacking experience, than it is to fail, first, one qualification because the old players aren't delivering anymore and the young players aren't allowed to play, and then second, another qualification because the new players can't handle all the responsibility put on their shoulders all of a sudden.

Anyway, I predict two European teams in the final next year. Spain vs......... Germany.

Spain because they have the best team in the world right now, and Germany because they can put a sack of red, black and yellow potatoes on the pitch and still make it to the final - with grace.

And, yeah, what do you mean what's wrong with the title??

I was just about to say this place has great mods.. and in answer to your question Piddzilla there was no title a few minutes ago.

We are playing Italy this weekend at home. We have played pretty boring soccer in this qualifying campaign but we seem to grind out the results. I still cannot see us beating the Italians at the weekend, and thus cannot see us automatically qualifying for the World Cup, whch leaves the playoff route for us and while i believe we could get there as runner up, the fact that the teams are to be seeded would mean that Ireland will have a tougher task now to reach South Africa. We have not one ounce of creative ability in our midfield that can see us playing any sort of enjoyable skillful soccer that you need to get to the main tournament

We're already there, I don't care. I miss the Premier league.

All qualifying games should be played in about a month, maybe at the end of the season, then they could go right through to the World Cup. That'd mean football from the start of the season, right the way through until the end of the World Cup. That'd be great.

It's all in the reflexes.

Definitely staying tuned to all the scores to see who can get in and I'm glad that the USA is assured placement, but what happened to Charlie Davies is awful. Wish him the continued best.

On the note of Fifa10, I haven't played yet but I really want to play badly!

Golgot, who are those hot Croatian boys?
The one on the left is Niko Kranjcar and the one taking the throw-in is Vedran Corluka. As a Spurs fan myself, i'm happy to say that their good looks are reflected in their football.

Our other Croation who Golgot didn't mention (because his massive honker means he ain't quite as handsome as his compatriots) is Luka Modric. And he is our best attacking player. By a street. Unfortunately he is out injured at the moment but I hope to see him trot out onto the White Hart Lane turf in a few weeks.

I didn't think i'd be able to combine my two loves on this board (Cinema and Spurs) but it seems I was wrong. We're a great football club and I hope those unfamiliar will be on the look-out for us in the future.

And as for the World Cup, i'm supporting England of course! Even though I must admit my passion for international football pales in comparison to my passion for the mighty Lilywhites!

EDIT - Oh, ignore that Arsenal shirt poisoning the page as well!

Hey, what's wrong with being 3rd in 'the toughest league in the world'?

We have numerous internationals of the finest mongrel pedigree. Peter 'Irish Wolfhound' Crouch is like two Zola's linked together. Ledley 'please don't put me down' King would hobble into any team in the land. And 'Sgt' Wilson Palacios has something of the British Bulldog about him

But nah, in all seriousness, this is one of our shiniest 'false dawns' in ages. I'd wager, whoever your team is honey, they ain't looking forward to playing us

We already played you, it wasn't too difficult, even with the goal start we gave you.

Actually, I agree that you're really flying at the moment. Harry's got you well organised and playing well. Defoe is/was playing in the way that we've all been waiting for him to for the last 5 years and Crouch continues to defy logic and be good. Shame about Modric, because you're not the same team without him.

BTW, that wasn't the pic that I tried to post above, but I just can't get that one to work.

What do you think? Are you happy with your group (doesn't apply in Ireland )

Group A
France
Mexico
South Africa
Uruguay

Group B
Argentina
Greece
Nigeria
South Korea

Group C
Algeria
England
Slovenia
USA

Group D
Australia
Germany
Ghana
Serbia

Group E
Cameroon
Denmark
Netherlands
Japan

Group F
Italy
New Zealand
Paraguay
Slovakia

Group G
Brazil
Ivory Coast
Korea DPR
Portugal

Group H
Chile
Honduras
Spain
Switzerland

My country did not get the group I was hoping for, but I think that Vidic, Ivanovic, Lukovic and Obradovic can handle all of Germany`s, Ghana`s and Australia`s attacking power, but I`m more worried for our own attacking power, unless Tosic gets on the pitch more often, and Jankovic recovers, we are in serious troubles. Group G will be the most interesting defenitly.

I think you're right, WS. In prediction mode, although you can't discount Australia (considering their 2006 performance) I really think it's Ghana who are your main rivals for the other place (along with Germany who will go through... because they're Germany and it doesn't matter whether they're any good or not, they'll make it.) I think it'll all be about dealing with Ghana's midfield. Dominate or, at least, have the upper hand, and you'll be ok but if they get on top and feed their front men time and time again and, eventually, they're bound to work a good chance. Not to mention the goal threat that the midfield themselves pose. Essien is on fire at the moment. I've not watched any Italian football this season, so I don't know about Muntari or Appaih.

We've (England) got an easy draw (about as easy as you could hope for) but I'm sure we'll contrive a way of making it difficult. Front page of one of tomorrow's paper's here

England
Algeria
Slovenia
Yanks

That's reallly tempting fate, isn't it?
