Worst final scene

I don't understand how the ending could have been better without throwing Tolkien's book out the window. Not that Tolkien's ending was bad at all, but with the exception of leaving out the "Scouring of the Shire" (which would have added another thirty final minutes had it been included), the way the book ends is the way the film ends.

I guess it's just one of those issues with which you have to weigh either being faithful to the book, or having a good ending. Personally, I thought the ending was fine; and although I'm all for taking creative liberties, I still consider it a little disrespectful to outright change an author's ending.

The truth is oft times painful… and considering that is what actually happened to William Wallace, there was no other way to end it…

Has anybody here seen Razor Face?
I wish I liked Braveheart... it makes me feel like a cold person who is emotionally dead since everyone seems to feel the exact opposite way I do. I think I just saw it at the wrong time of my life. I can handle movies with heartbreakingly sad endings but I think it's one of those associative things that I can't let go of. I don't think I'll ever be able to watch it and feel differently about it.

I feel sorry for me. I'm missing out on so much!

I guess it goes to show that sometimes following the age restrictions by the ratings is the right thing to do. Especially for your emotionally retarded 13 year old daughter.

You’re not emotionally retarded… everyone has movies that get next to them at times... the ending of Braveheart got me too when I saw it even though I knew how it ended…

aww thanks, I feel a bit better now
Maybe I should give it another whirl now that I'm all grown up (well, 21... hmm)

I think you can get them in the "Special Interest" section of the video store, but I might be wrong.

Yeah, I'm not into scat pornos either. I mean, consenting adults, privacy of your own home and all, but I'm no fan. Besides, the lighting on The Lord of the Sh!ts: Return of the Dump was way too dim, and I could hardly see what was going on.

Okay, good. I thought it was just my TV.

Ah, that's fair enough. Still, although I thought the ending was OK, I think they could've left a few things out and maybe slotted them back in on the 4 disc DVD.

Yeah, and it's actually difficult to imagine how much longer the ending is still going to be on the Extended Cut, if they add what I think they're going to add.

You ready? You look ready.

If they add what I think they will, you'll like the ending.

Yes, she is so right. I didn't cry a single bit for Braveheart but, I broke down in tears for My Dog Skip. That movie still makes my eyes water.

Saddest film I've ever seen is Greyfriars Bobby (I think that was the name). When the man died and the dog lied on his grave, I just wanted to hold him.

Mrs. BDT to y'all
Definitely The Return of the King, although i think its difficult to define the ending as it seemed to go on forever!!!!!!!!!!!!
