Most SHOCKING Film Ever!...

Keep on Rockin in the Free World
The Human Centipede ...
have yet to see it, but reading about it gives me the heeby geebies

I haven't most of the ones mentioned, with the exception of Blue Velvet and Requiem For A Dream, but I would probably have to say Caligula.
Caligula was very shocking for its time, but only in North America, its pretty tame really. X-rated is such an underused classification. The stigma attached is ridiculous imo

Spartacus the recent TV re-imagining is proof of that.

porno movies are XXX for a reason

I found Cronenberg's Dead Ringers very unsettling when I first saw it.
The Saw films are pretty full on!
I'd agree with the 1st one. After that its just more of the same, it can't qualify as shocking imo if its expected.

for myself, the most shocking movie i can recall watching was Fraility. Iwas affected for sometime afterwards, and several conversations were taking place regarding the plot device as we exited the theatre.

Lord of all Fevers and Plague
Nekromantik. A gem of German shocking cinema. There's also a second one!

Maybe Cannibal Holocaust
Or Jack Ketchum's Girl Next Door.

Apparently there is a film though that is truly messed up which has recently been going around in Australia which is called 'Serbian Movie'. I have seen my fair share of messed up movies and I am usually pretty game to watch just about anything, but this is the first time I am questioning seeing a film.

This might seem odd to most of you bug From Dusk Till Dawn shocked me the most. I never read blurbs on movies and try hard to avoid too much information about a movie before I see it, as I like to see a movie with a fresh and open mind. This is harder to do today but back when this Tarrantino movie came out on VHS all I had to do was avoid reading the back of the box. I was shocked by not only the dialogue but the scene in the bar when they transformed really caught me off guard because I truly had NO idea this was a vampire movie! Loved it!

No one's mentioned it yet so I'll nominate it for the most shocking.

The Birth of a Nation.

Hard to believe it's the highest grossing movie of the silent film era.
